Just A Number..

"Sure we can precious." He picked Zac up and stepped outside with him, taking them to their park and sitting down.

"Miss this place." Zac smiled for a moment and looked at Quincy. "Memaw and I were talking. You're wife... she's going to die soon. What then? I won't beat around the bush, I want straight answers okay?" He looked up at him, fingers laced together.

He nodded and kissed Zac's cheek, looking into his eyes.
"Just tell me what you wanna know."

"Well whats going to happen? Well, first of all, are you two going to get back together? Second, if you do go bakc to her, is she the jealous type? Or will she let you still take care of our kid?"

"No baby....I promised I would but no...Im in love with you, I cant not have you. If your not with me in miserable." He shook his head. "And yes, she can be jealous and mean when she feels like it. She will let me take care of my kid because im not going to be with her, ill be with you."

Zac blinked up at him.
"You... you're serious." He was so happy he could cry. He'd expected Quincy to flat out tell him that he was going to leave him when she got here. Maybe even suggest a sort of threesome thing. But not this...

"Completely. Im a man who just wants one lover and I love you more than anything besides Aaron....I wont let her come between me and you Zac..."

Zac simply hugged him close and buried his head in his neck.
"You fucking love me...." Finally, he believed it...

Quincy ran his fingers through Zac's hair.
"Yes baby, I love you so much...You will never know...."

"I already know because I love you more." He winked, giddy now.

'Awww come on now, I think I know a bit more about this and I love you way more Zac...I was suicidal when you left me..." He admitted this quietly.

"So was I." Zac sighed. He had gone back to wearing his cuffs and choker since he started cutting. He removed the choker from around his neck, pointing to a deep scar, deeper and larger than the rest. "This one just about did the trick but momma found me." He nodded.

Quincy took Zac's face in his hands.
"What did I tell you about that Zachary?"

"I'm sorry... I had seriously stopped til I left you..." He avoided Quincy's gaze.

And that was fine because Quincy wasn't looking at him.
"How many new cuts?"

"A lot. I could count them if I sat down and concentrated but..." It might take a while. If you added up the ones on each wrist and ankle. Then there were the ones on his throat.

"Gimme a number of the knew ones."
Their had to be a punishment.

Zac sighed as he took off his cuffs and rolled up his pant legs.
He began counting the fresh marks to himself. Fourteen on his left wrist, seventeen on his right. Seven on his right ankle, six on his left. Then he ran his finger down his neck, counting. Eleven there. Fifty five altogether.
"Fifty five." He said aloud.

"Okay then. For fifty five days you get no kisses." He hummed to himself and he held his lover.

Zac's head snapped up.
"What?" He looked like a kicked puppy

Quincy stroked his cheek.
"No kisses for fifty five days baby. I have told you about that cutting."

"Come on... we weren't even together when I did it...." He frowned deeply.

"But you were pregnant with my baby Zac. One way or the other you knew better baby." Quincy chastised softly.

"I didn't know or I wouldn't have... c'mon... like, forty five hours without kisses?" He tried.

"No, I wont get my point across that way so its fifty five days, no kisses." He hugged Zac lightly.
