Just A Number..

Rick didn't know what to do.
"ALEX GET YOUR ASS UP!" He screamed. Zac was the lightest sleeper. He woke first.
"Dad?!" He called back just as Rick broke down the door.
"Dad what the hell are you doing?" Zac waddled into the room.
"Your memaw ran away." He cursed running out the door, losing his breath.
"Dad you can't run like that. You have cancer!"
"I don't caer!"

Mike was all alone in the new big town. It was getting late, it was cold and he had nowhere to go. He just wondered around, looking for a place to stay for the night.

Zac woke Alex. When told the whole story he was immediately out looking for his husband.

Mike was a long ways away. He took a while and found a hotel he could stay at for the night. He couldn't go back....
Mike got a job at a local strip club.
No one had seen him, he disappeared.

When Alex couldn't find him, he stormed home. He immediately grabbed Rick by the collar of his shirt, slamming him gruffly against the wall.
"What the fuck did you say to him?!" He snarled.
"Alex, calm down."
Alex punched him in the jaw.
"WHAT. DID. YOU. SAY?"
"I told him there was a bigger chance of you leaving if he stayed all tough."
"Rick goddamnit!" Alex punched him again.

Kevin had by now woken up and punched his father in the back of the head.
"HIT HIM AGAIN AND ILL WHIP YOU MOTHER FUCKING ASS DADDY!" He shoved Alex and took Rick in his arms, glaring at Alex as if he was a heartless prick.
"He has cancer, you don't fucking touch him." Kevin kissed the top of Rick's head.

Rick said nothing, eyes closed as he held his jaw.
Alex was shaking.
Where was his husband???

"D-Daddy I dont know where momma went but we will find him....You two need each other. He...I think he was leaving you before you left him for another man."

"I CANT!" Alex exclaimed. He couldn't do it this time. He wouldn't...
This time it would be him, alone, broken....

Kevin stood up and pressed his father into his chest with a small sigh.
"Daddy this is going to be fine. You wont be like momma. You will go out and we will find him and bring him home and he will be yours...."

"He's NOWHERE. How can he just up and leave like that....?"
Rick was livid. At Mike.
How could he leave everything?
He had a family.
He knew he was depended on. He admitted to doing all the work but it wasn't just that.
Kevin had problems... who was going to be his doctor?
Who was going to deliver his son's fucking octuplets?
Not like he cared that much but what about his chemo?
Alex?
Biddy?
He just up and left them all?

"Daddy....Don't.....I think he shouldn't have but hey, I would have done the same thing. If i was him and Rick was you, I would be so far gone. I cant stay and worry about him leaving me every second. Momma does and its making him crazy. Thats why he has to take those fucking pills, he is do depressed and anxious, worried about you and if he is making you happy. Daddy Ill find him, I know I can. Momma can sense when something is wrong with one of us. If there is a problem he will be back to help us....Momma loves us all unconditionally. Im upset but im not pissed."

"I am." Rick shook his head with narrowed eyes.
Alex simply sighed and locked himself in the bathroom to bawl.

Kevin looked down at him.
"Shut the fuck up, where in the hell do you get off telling him daddy would leave?"

"I never said that. He thought thats what I meant. He has a whole fucking family! He just up and left!" Rick shook his head. "Who the hell is going to take care of you?! Deliver Zac's octuplets?! Goddamnit!"

"Maybe you and Alex will learn to appricarte what all he does for this family. He holds us together...He takes care of us. He gets no help.....And no thank you."

"We always thank him!" Rick drug a hand across his face. "We all appreciate what he does. I really don't need a lecture now. You're not my fucking mother." Rick snapped and stormed off.

"No, OUR MOTHER IS GONE!"
They did not thank him.
Never stopped to appreciate him...

"FUCK YOU!" Rick stormed out of the house.

Kevin frowned.
Fuck him.....
He went to his room and locked his door.
Fuck him.....
All anyone ever did was fuck him and his mother......

Rick stormed around outside. He had no clue where he was going until he found himself at his brother and Dustin's house.

Dustin opened the door and found him.
"Howdy there Rick. What'cha doin?"

"Sorry for bothering you Dustin.... can I come in please?" He sighed.

"Sure can." He stepped aside and patted Rick's back.
"What's eatin ya?"

"Mi- Alex's lover, I mean. He just up and left." He sighed and shook his head. "That doctor. The one whos gonna deliver you and Chris's baby, do you have his phone number? I need my chemo."
