He Will Be Loved

"Mike.... since when don't you cry in front of me damnit? I can't take that... it hurts." He held Mike to his chest.

"Since it got old! Since you left me because of it! I can't cry infront of you! I-I can't! I have to be tough! I got to take care of everything! You don't need this!"

"Mikey... NO. Not at all..." Alex sighed, shaking his head. "I want you to be YOU. Sure, you can be tough if you need to sometimes but baby, let it out. Hell I cry more than you lately! But no, this is NOT what I want Mikey.."

"T-Then why do I-I feel like it is? Wh-Why do I feel like th-this is the only way t-to please you!?" He hiccuped.

"I have NO clue..." Alex sighed. "You know what I want? You know how to please me?"

Mike looked up at him with his dull teary blue eyes.
"Wh-What?"

"Be YOU. I love YOU. When you need to cry, cry! Tell me whats on your mind, not gve a fuck what I say. Be that feisty, little, dreamy blue eyed man I fell in love with. Mikey, go back to that day. Almost ninety years ago. You remember it, I know ya do. I remember every word. Close your eyes and picture it. That city street. I was walking home and I saw this guy. Masked face. But he was holding a gun to someone's back. Demanding for their money. Now, normally I wouldn't have given a fuck. But I don't know what, but something made me grab the man by the collar of his shirt and make him leave the guy the hell alone. Maybe it was fate. I checked on the man to make sure he was okay and the second I looked into those terror filled, piercing, beautiful blue eyes I knew Mikey. I knew I'd met the man I would marry. I could never have guessed that he'd put up with my shit for ninety years or give me so many beautiful babies.... but I knew I loved you already. So I took the guy out to dinner, my treat of course. Made sure he was okay is what I called it but really I was doing anything to keep him around. I refused to let him go until I had his full name and phone number..." Alex smiled fondly at his husband as he thought of that day. The day they had met. "Just Mikey, go back to that day. Be the man I fell in love with again..."

Mike was crying harder now. Alex remembered that? He had probably saved Mike's life because there was no way he was giving that money up. It had been saved for an operation Lane needed, he had been walking it to the hospital. Lane had been hurt in war and Mike just had to help him so thats what he was doing, he had promised Sarah and that newborn baby in her arms that he would get him taken care of and Mike was not letting it go. If not for Alex he would have been killed. At the time Mike would have been fine with that, his life had not been going good, he had attempted suicide several times and he cut himself alot but Alex....He had met Alex and it all he changed. He had a reason to get up in the morning, somewhere to go when he needed comfort or love...He had someone to coddle him and want him around. Mike never felt like he needed to act in the begging, that changed with the years but at the begging....He acted for no one, he was Mike and you could take him or leave him. Alex took him and Alex loved him and Alex gave him a life and a reason to live that life.
"I-I miss that A-Alex...." He sniffled lightly as it replayed over and over again in his mind.

"So do I sweety..." Alex sighed, he was also replaying it. "I was never the type of guy to play the hero. Normally I'd have just walked right on past. But boy, am I glad I didn't that time. It changed my life..."

Mike nodded, a small smile on his face.
"M-Mine too, i-it made mine worth living...."

"Same here sweety... I've never told you this before but...you know why I was going down that street that night? I was finding the tallest building I could and I was going to jump. So technically you saved me too."

Mike clung to Alex, holding on tight.
"I love you....Hell you saved Lane too........"
Fucking Lane, ruining everything.

"Huh? Why are we bringing Lane into this sweety?" Alex sighed. "I love you too."

"Because he is, one way or the other, part of our life. He has been in mine since I was little and he kinda took you from me so......I need to get over it...."
He would never get over it.

"I wish you could but I know you cant and I accept that." He sighed. "But lets just forget about him for now okay?"

Mike nodded, he could do that.
"D-Did you hear Jayden earlier? H-He spoke Alex....A-And then he walked but he was m-mad at me and he w-wouldnt come to m-me." Mike cried lightly.

"OH! My baby walked?! AndI missed it!?" Alex gasped

Mike nodded with a sob.
"H-He walked and he was t-talking to me and-and...."

"OH what'd he say?! I'm a horrible daddy! I missed it!"

"No your not, his first word was "MINE!" And then he said he loved me, I was his, he loved you, you were his, kevin was his, this whole house was his and he didnt want Austin in it."

Alex laughed lightly.
"Possessive son of a bitch ain't he? Just like his daddy..." He hummed.

"Alex baby I know but he HAS to be nice to Austin or Biddy WONT BRING HIM BACK! AND! BIDDY WONT COME BACK!"

Alex frowned deeply.
"I'm sure he doesn't really hate Austin..." He walked over and lifted Jayden. "Baby why don't you want Austin here?"
"I telled momma... you dunt lub me when he's here."

Mike cried harder and buried his head in the pillows.
"I tried to tell his hardheaded ass!"

"Baby no, we always love you." Alex cooed.
"But when he's here you all lub him and ignow me." He pouted.
