Just A Number..

Rick could feel the drugs working... felt them slowly killing him...

Mike held his other hand as Kevin sang to him.
They both hated this....They loved Rick so much.

A half hour passed and Rick's eyes slipped shut, his body going limp in Kevin's arms.

Kevin let out a small sob, holding Rick's body tightly to his chest.

Rick's skin went a ghostly white shade, his hand still clutching onto Mike and Kevin's hands.

Mike had Kevin hold Rick while the moved him to his and Kevin's room. They laid him down and let Kevin lay with him as the effects of his kidney made him sick. He cuddled Rick close and held him, rocking him back and forth while his mother did things around the house before kissing Rick's cheek and going to bed wit Alex.

A whole day, almost two passed with Rick out. But eventually he blinked his eyes open.

Kevin was holding him, leaning back against the head board was Mike gave him his dialysis.
"Hey baby." Mike cooed with a grin.
Kevin, who looked dead snapped his head up and squeezed Rick to his chest.
"Baby your up!!"

"How long was I out?" Rick murmured, stretching.

"Almost tow days baby." Kevin answered for him. "A few hours and it would have been two days."

"Oh. I'm sorry." He rolled over, kissing Kevin's cheek.

"Don't be baby, its okay." He smiled softly as Mike checked Rick's vitals.

"I feel.... great. Better than I have in a while but... weird." He said softly.

"Weird?" Kevin frowned at him. "Whats weird Rick?" Now he was worried.

"I dunno, its just weird." He shrugged. "I feel like.... light? I dunno... Don't you get that feeling when you die again and come back? Just.... I dont know..."

Kevin hummed and hugged him close.
"I missed you Mr. Light."

Rick chuckled.
"I missed you too baby. How are you?"

"Im great, this dialysis is actually doing fine and I feel good and I am glad your back." He grinned.

"REally?" Rick beamed hopefully at his lover "That's great."

Mike smiled softly.
He and Kevin had talked....
"Yeah, im surprised too but only the first day was any trouble."

Rick hugged him.
"That's awesome babe." He kissed him softly.

"Yeah!" Kevin plastered on a smile as Mike got him off his machine.
Things werent as good as he made them seem.

Rick was ecstatic... but if he knew Kevin was faking, he would be devastated.

Kevin wrapped his arms around Rick and cuddled him.
"God I love you so much and I missed you."

"I love you and I missed you too baby." Rick smiled softly.
