When Crickets Cry...

Brayden, without thinking dived in the water, looking for Angel. He was worried although he knew Angel could swim.

Angel's head resurfaced, he looked around frantically for the nest and the little chicks.

Brayden had found the little chicks and had them in his hand.
"Looking for these?" He smiled softly, holding his hand out.

Angel nodded, swimming back to the bank and waiting for Brayden so he could see the chicks.

Brayden swam back to the bank and held out the chicks to Angel.

Ange was careful not to touch Brayden at all as he picked the chicks up and tried to find someway to warm them up.

Brayden sighed when Angel wouldn't touch him but he shook his head and shrugged it off.

Higgy frowned, pulled Angel over to him, earning a slap in the face.
"Don't touch me!!"
Higgy ignored him and moved his neck, looking at the holes where the snake sank his teeth in.

"Is he alright? Wasn't poisonous or anything right?" Brayden frowned.

"I dunno....I need to see the snake."
Angel was already feeling bad though...."

"I think its still in the water..." Brayden frowned as he looked at Angel.

Angel whimpered, holding onto Higgy.
"Brayden...Find me that snake."
He swallowed hard, frowning as he felt something warm on his shoulder. He looked to see Angel's nose bleeding.

"Okay..." Brayden once again hopped into the water and began searching.

Higgy was chewing his lip, watching Angel closely as the boy got up and puked, blood splashing on the bank as the threw up. He bled from his mouth...his nose...eveywhere..."
Higgy knew what had but him.
"Brayden!!!"

"Oh hell!" Brayden stared at Angel in horror. "Wh-what happened?!"

"A Gaboon Viper...Its got a certain venom....makes you bleed to death..."
He didn't know alone who had antivenom.

"Oh god...." Brayden was terrified of snakes in the first place. This was only making his fear worse...

Higgy sighed, patting Angel's head.
"He's going to die...."

"CAn I... can I suck the venom out? I'll die?" He looked up at Higgy.

Higgy shock his head.
"I can't let you die...."
He had a light bulb moment.
"My house." He picked Angel up and ran home.

Brayden followed him as fast as he could.
"What???"

Higgy threw Angel on the couch, going through his cabinets and finding his olive oil, handing it to Brayden.
"Take a sip of that, suck out the poision."

Brayden didn't question it he just did as he was told, swallowing some of the olive oil before bending over Angel, touching him for the first time as he placed his lips around the bite mark, sucking the venom out of his brother.

Angel twitched, but did nothing else, couching up more blood as Brayden saved him.

Brayden continued sucking out more and more venom. He pulled back after a while, coughing.
