When Crickets Cry...

"Um, hey. Can I talk to Quincy? He's hear right?"

"Depends, what do you want with him?" Quinton leaned against the door.

"I just wanna speak with him." Rick sighed. "I swear. I love him y'know and I ain't playing favorites and taking my sons side. Zac was wrong and I just wanna know how Quincy's feeling."

"Like hell, I have never seen him cry like that since Jan killed his babies. He is not going back."

"He's crying?" Rick blinked. He'd never seen Quincy cry. "Please lemme talk to him, Quinton."

"All he has done since he got here is cry and I hate it. He and your son are over."

"Quinton, just... let me see him. Please." He sighed.

After a moment he nodded and called his brother in to the room to answer the door.

Rick nervously stepped in the house.
"Quincy, can we talk back in your room or outside or whatever?" He wanted privacy without Quinton interrupting.

Quincy nodded, pulling Rick off to his room and sitting on the bed. His large brown eyes teary, puffy and red.
"Look Rick.....Just...Dont."

Rick sighed, shaking his head.
"Quincy..." He opened his arms. "Are you okay?"

He shook his head, not moving.
"No.....No....im not....."

Rick put his arms down. He knew Quincy wasn't a hug type of person but he figured it was nice to offer.
"Are you and Zac over? Quinton said so but I want to hear it from you before I deliver the message."

Quincy paused but nodded, putting his head in his hands.
"I want him to have better then me....You make sure he does...for me...."

"I'll try..." He sighed and nodded.
But deep down, he knew... Zac couldn't move on. It wasn't physically possible. Quincy had Zac's heart and even if he didn't want it anymore, it was his. Zac would never move on. Just like Kevin loved Rick and Mike loved Alex... they couldn't move on...

"I want four kids one week and four the next. Thats how we can switch..."

"Okay Quincy..." Rick nodded, his heart aching for his son...

Tears welled in Quincy's eyes.
"I miss him so much...."

"He misses you too Quincy. So much... Believe me..." Rick sighed, his own eyes tearing up.

"I love him....so much...."
This was killing him but his baby....his precious needed better.

"Quincy... if you love him... why are you leaving?" He sighed.

"Because...I want better for the most precious thing that ever stepped into my life."

"Quincy... I'm not trying to make you feel bad or make you go back to him but I'm just letting you know.. that boy... loves you like Kevin loves me and Mike loves Alex. It is physically impossible for him to love someone else..."

Quincy shook his head.
"If it gets bad...he knows where I am..."

"Okay Quincy..." He sighed softly, standing up.
