When Crickets Cry...

Quincy didnt move.
"Tell him I love him."

"I willl...."
He wouldn't... it would hurt Zac more...
"G'bye..."

Quincy shook his head.
"Don't lie. Just say no."

"Fine then. I'm not gonna. Cause it'll hurt him." He sighed. "Now, goodbye. If you wanna talk to me or anyone else you know where to find us.."

Quincy waved him off.
He didn't need them,He never had.

Rick sighed as he walked to his son's house. He pulled Zac outside and told him what Quincy had said.
"W-what?" You could see Zac's heart breaking through his piercing blue eyes.
"Baby... he's breaking up with you..."
"W-we have children... I-I..." Zac's breathing was shallow as he held up his ring finger in explanation.
"Baby... I know..." Rick bit his lip, almost in tears himself.
"I... No.... daddy... no..." He shook his head furiously before his legs gave out on him.
Rick caught him just as Zac began sobbing uncontrollably into his chest.

Quincy was doing the same as Zac was but instead of Rick, he was with Quinton. It was painful to watch.

Rick finally couldn't hold back, he cried into his son's hair as he cradled Zac to his chest. He walked home. Kevin always seemed to handle Zac better..

Kevin did, he would know what to do, he always knew...

Rick brought Zac to Kevin.
"Baby... he needs you." He whispered hoarsely as he stroked his son's hair. Zac was clinging tightly to his father, something he'd never done.

Kevin took his baby with a deep frown.
"Sweetie?What is it?"

Zac clung onto his mother, letting out a loud heartbroken sob.
Rick spoke for him.
"Quincy... broke up with him."
Zac sobbed again, chucking his ring across the room.

Kevin said nothing.
He gently picked up the ring and held onto it.
"Go talk to him."

Zac shook his head furiously.
"N-NO!" He cried, covering his face.

"Then be without him. He can't look At you and let you go.... He is not like your grandpa..."

"I-I..." He didn't want to beg... didnt want everyone to know how much he needed Quincy... didn't want to give Quincy all thispower. Zac had always been so independent... yet with a snap of his fingers.. Quincy had brought his whole world to pieces, crashing down around him..

"He loves you Zac. He just wants whats best for you...You called him a monster...He wants better for you."

"For years i've insisted he wasn't a monster! I slip up one time and we're over!?"

"Baby.....You called him a monster. That...Means...everything to him. He wants you to have better than a monster like him."

"But I CANT! For me, NOTHING is better than him, why can't he see that!" He cried harder.

"Tell him....And you never call him a monster again if you want to keep him."

"I didn't even mean it... I just... he was hurting our baby..."

"And you hurt him. You father hit you. Did you see me screaming and hitting him? No I got in his face and I made him stop."

"I dont' have that effect on him though momma... I tried to do that and he wouldn't listen."

"Because you werent hard enough. Your father knows im a crazy bitch about my babies. He wont try me.You gotta show Quincy...."
