Calvin was out ring shopping. If they were going to do this, they were going to do it right. He walked up to the woman at the counter.
"Ma'am, I want the biggest diamond ring you got." He nodded at her.
She sneered, eyeing him critically, taking in his long brown hair, motorcycle jacket and worn jeans.
"Sir,I highly doubt you can afford anything in this store."
"Listen here, you show me the best thing you got. I want it. I don't care what it costs me."
She rolled her eyes and walked off but moments later she returned with a large, diamond ring.
It was perfect...
He went through his wallet. It cost his entire life savings. He'd been saving up for a motorcycle since he was thirteen but this was worth it...
He handed her the contents of his wallet with a sigh. She handed him the ring in a small black box and he drove home with it in his pocket.

Gabriel was asleep finally, his arms around the childs waist. He would have been fine without a ring, as long as he had Calvin.

Calvin once again stood and walked over to Gabriel.
"Gabriel, I love you. I don't just throw around my love like its nothing. When I say that, I mean it. I love you and I do want to marry you. I just didn't want to rush you into it." He got down on one knee and pulled out the ring. "Gabriel McDaniels will you do me the honor of being my husband?"
