War On The Heart

Quincy was taking his time, relaxing before he had to wash and go off to war again.

Zac hadn't had a proper bath in years. He was making it last as long as possible.

Quincy was a big man in ALL ways, it would be hard for someone like zac not to look.

He really was.... it took all Zac had not to stare too much. But he did steal glances every now and then...

"Time to wash." Quincy soaped up a ran and ran it over Zac's bony back.

"I can wash myself..." He didn't particularly WANT to but he would....

"Well Zac, I dunno, your so weak...can you even lift the rag?" Quincy frowned, still washing the small boy.

"I'm not that weak..." He sighed but let Quincy continue washing him.

Quincy made sure to scrub him good, he knew it must have been forever since he was really clean.
"So....What was your family like?"

"Well... dad was big and strong, he always tried to protect us but... not even he could really stop them when they found us." He sighed. "Momma loved daddy more than anything. He was always sick and it was even worse when we were trapped in that closet... I'm sort of glad he died. He was always sick and weak... he's in a better place now I like to think." He nodded. "And Jr was only three. He was loud and not shy at all... curious. Like most toddlers.."

Quincy blinked at Zac.
"So....Well....I dunno.....So they just killed them on the spot? We are supposed to take them back to base and ship em off to camps, your father would have been worth work...your mom and brother would have been gassed on arrival....well....maybe, some of the guys like to rape the women and some men when they find them."

"My dad was fighting back. He took one of their guns. He was strong... he wouldn't sit back and let them take him. So they shot him on the spot. I left before I saw what they did to momma and..." He once again stopped before he got to Jr.

Quincy sighed, could have done alot to his mother, raped him, killed him, taken him off...."What about your brother?"

"I... I didn't see what they did to him either." He lied

"Don't lie to me Zac. You said you had him." Quincy raised a brow to the small boy.

"I was running. I was fast so they couldn't catch me. So thats why they started shooting at me... they caught me in the back of my calf. I dropped him... they shot him..." All his fucking fault...

Quincy frowned, hugging the boy tight.
"Oh Zac....its not your fault....He is better off dead too.....this is no place for a child."

"It is my fault though... momma told me to protect him. I didn't..."

"You tried Zac." Quincy sighed and shook his head.
"Your momma....was he a good momma? Did he love you?"

"He was a great momma. One of the best you could ask for. He loved me more than anything but Jr and daddy..."

"He don't sound to good...."
Always sick....
Loved their father more than them..

"But he was. He was amazing. He was so sick but always put daddy and us first..."

Quincy nodded.
"Okay kiddo, whatever you say."

"You didnt know him." Zac shrugged.

"No I didn't..." And neither did the men who raped him when you left." Quincy thought in his head with a sigh.
