I Shouldn't Love You, but I Want To

"It's..okay," Evan said softly. "Just nothing else, not yet."

"I know, I'm not ready either. It's okay." Alex whispered gently tugging on Evan's earlobe with his teeth. He then moved back to his lips, kissing them sweetly.

Evan couldn't remember the last time he'd been this happy. He trusted Alex. Alex had respected his wishes, unlike the others.

Alex smiled as he broke away for air. He laid down, pulling Evan into his lap. He just hugged him as he began to doze off.

"Sleep well mio caro," Evan whispered, rubbing Alex's cheek gently.

"Goodnight Evan. What'd you call me by the way?" Alex asked, he felt so clueless when Evan spoke Italian.

"Mio caro is Italian for my dear," Evan explained.

"Oh." Alex smiled, kissing the top of Evan's head before going to sleep.

Evan fell asleep not to long after, a peaceful smile on his face.

The next morning Alex awoke with Evan, smiling in his arms. He gently kissed his forehead. He grinned but it faded when he remembered he was going to be in huge trouble for not telling his parents where he was.
"Evey, wake up." He whisered, softly shaking his shoulders.

Evan's eyes fluttered open slowly. He grinned when he saw Alex was still there. "Hey you," Evan said softly.

"Hi." Alex smiled. "We don't wanna be late for school." Alex said hopping out of bed. He cringed in pain as he landed on his feet, remembering his broken ankle.
"Damnit." He muttered.

"You need to try to be careful innamorato," Evan said. "I don't want you any more hurt than you are."

"Ugh. I hate not being able to move normally." Alex frowned, picking up his crutches.

"I know,I know," Evan said softly. "It won't be like that forever though."

Alex grumbled, attempting to dress himself in the clothing he kept in his bookbag.

"You need help?" Evan asked softly.

Alex reluctantly nodded, he hated needing help for the simplest things.

Evan walked over to Alex and helped him as best he could. "It's okay to ask for help you know, it won't kill you I promise," Evan chuckled.

"I'm not a child, I don't like being treated like one." Alex stated. "Thanks." He sighed.

"Alex, just because you need help every now and again doesn't mean you're a child mio caro," Evan said.

"Whatever." Alex just shook his head, not wanting to get into another one of these conversations.
"Let's go, it's gonna take me forever to get to the bus stop with these." He grumbled, waving a crutch in the air.

Evan nodded and grabbed his bag.

Alex slowly limped down the street with Evan a few feet in front of him. He zoned out as he thought about if people would say anything about him hanging out with Evan.

Evan sighed and shook his head. He wished Alex wasn't so wrapped up in what others thought. Others didn't matter to him.
