Mistakes

"Alex, that is mostly my fault. Im sorry okay." Mike kissed the top of Alex's head. "Your a wonderful husband but your over looking the good times, we were just out side teasing each other. We do have good times, your only thinking of the bad though. Alex, think of the good times we have."

Alex smiled reaching up to kiss Mike's lips.
"We fight like ninety percent of the time though."

"Yeah, that's true but we're stronger for it. We're closer, how many other people can go through all this and say they are still willingly together.

"True, guess we are pretty awesome." Alex chuckled wiping away a few tears.

"Yeah, your the best husband ever." Mike kissed away some of the tears. "There's my smile, the one I fell in love with."

Alex smiled wider.
"Guess what song is stuck in my head?" He grinned.

"Ummm I have no idea," Mike smiled. "That one song by Alan Jackson about the river? No your mind, its elevator music."

"Nope, that song I wrote for you." Alex smiled, humming the tune to himself.

You know......"I wrote several song for you, just never showed you. Most of them I threw out. I only even remember one by heart."

"You did?" Alex smiled. "Why did you throw them away?" He frowned.

"They weren't good but I got up to one hundred before I felt stupid and trashed them all. I only kept one." Mike got up and grabbed his guitar. "I know the words,." Mike started playing the guitar and soon began singing softly with it.

"That was beautiful Mike." Alex smiled, looking at his husband with tear filled eyes. "I love it. I wish you wouldn't have thrown away the rest."

"Sorry, they just didn't sound right like this one did. This one had taken me fifteen years to perfect."

Alex smiled.
"Well it is perfect. Just like you. Don't change it again."

"Okay, I wont." Mike went to the dresser and took out a piece of paper, handing it to Alex." This is the original copy." The paper was tear stained and the words ran in some placed but you could tell what it was.

Alex held the paper to his chest, huge smile on his face.
"This means a lot to me Mike."

"Good because it was hell to write, I had to restart hundreds of times because I didn't like it." Mike sat beside Alex after he put his guitar away.

"I love you." Alex grinned, pulling Mike into his lap. "That's way better than my song."

"Nah, I prefer your song." Topping Alex was still nagging at Mike in the back of him mind.

"Well you're a better singer." Alex chuckled. "That's why I hardly ever sing."

"I love your voice...." Mike had a frown on his face, wondering if maybe Alex had forgotten.

"I don't, but I'll sing it any time you want. All you have to do is ask." Alex smiled.

"Well then sing me a song." Mike nuzzled his face into Alex's chest. "I want you to sing for me."

"The song I wrote or any song?" Alex asked, smiling as he stroked Mike's hair.

"Any song. I just want to hear you sing." Mike kissed Alex's cheek as he waited for his song.
