Mistakes

Alex dressed himself and walked down the hall to the bathroom.
"Mike please open the door."

Mike couldn't do that, not now. He couldn't face his husband knowing he had hurt him like that.

Alex sighed and reached up on the ledge above the door, grabbing the small spare key. He unlocked the bathroom door and stepped inside.
He stripped back down and sat in the tub. He immediately regretted that, the water around him turned a light pink shade from the blood. He knew this would only upset Mike more.

Mike let out a wail and tried to get out of the tub, his foot slipped and he fell down onto the hard tile floor, cracking his head against it. Mike groaned in pain as he struggled to stand up, he couldn't be near Alex right now. Mike ran back to there bed room, locking the door and taking the extra keys. Mike left a small puddle of blood in the bathroom where he fell and even more on the pillow he covered his head with.

"Mike please!" Alex screamed. He walked down the hall yet again. "Mike I will kick down the goddamn door. Please just open it!"

"Alex please! Not now!" He sobbed. "Im sorry okay! Just please!" Mike cried into the pillow.

"Mike baby..." Alex sighed. He quietly crept around the side of the house and crawled in through the window. He placed a hand on Mike's shoulder.
"Baby, I'm not mad at you."

Mike let out another scream, he gathered some clothes, putting them on quickly and then he took his keys. Mike ran outside and got in his truck before he tore out of the yard.

Alex screamed out in frustration then stormed downstairs flopping down on the couch.

Mike went to a hospital and got ten stitches in his head. Afterwards he went to Critters to try and calm down.

"Alex..." Alex called to his son. "Where would your mother go if he was upset?"

"Ummm if hes not with you he will be at Critters." Alex called down to his father.

"Ya think you can drive down there with me quick? I know you can't drive but i don't know the way."

"Yes sir." Alex Jr came down and drove his father out to Critters house. He was greeted with Critter's five year old little girl running out to hug him. Alex pointed and out beside a giant tree Mike was on a home made swing with Critter leaning against the tree and giving him a push every once in a while. A swing for his daughter hung on the other side of the tree.

"Uh, Critter, ya think I could talk to Mike?" Alex raised a brow, walking over to the two. He laughed to himself. All Mike's friends had the weirdest names.

Critter blinked at him. "You can call me Chris." Mike nodded to him so he told Mike he hoped his head felt better and he would be inside if he needed him.

"Did ya sleep with him too?" Alex thought but then slapped himself mentally.He got so jealous of anyone who came within a ten foot radius of his husband.
"Baby, please don't run from me." He said, this time aloud.

If Mike had know what Alex had been thinking if would have near about killed him on the spot. "O-Okay....and before you ask, I have never been with him like that. He is like my big brother and im kind of his little brother. He lost his real little brother in war." Mike shrugged, a hand covering the stitches in his head.

"Wasn't gonna ask." Alex lied. "But honestly Mike, you can't keep running from me every time you're upset."
Alex took a step forward and cupped Mike's face in his hands.
"I love you okay? I want you to talk to me about what you're feeling instead of going to someone else."

"I just came here to think, its not like I was crying to Chrissy. I could if I wanted but he has other things, more important things to worry about. And there are something I just can't talk to you about and have you understand."

"Like what?" Alex raised a brow and crossed his arms skeptically.

"You." Was Mike's simple answer. It was just that Critter gave good advice, he knew what he was talking about.

"I think I understand myself pretty damn well." Alex chuckled, not certain what Mike meant.

"Yeah..." Mike said lamely, he didn't want to speak, he wanted to forget and that was it. "And Alex, I don't care what your reason might be but if you pick a fight with Critter....you'll lose and Ill have to get nasty and I dont want to so do me a favor and don't." Mike knew how Alex could be.

"I honestly wasn't going to." Alex frowned, snapping his head away. He honestly didn't have a problem yet. But he didn't like knowing that he would lose. So much for the whole 'love you more than anything' thing.
He thought Mike knew him better than to say that.
