Don't Take the Boy

Matt clasp his mothers hand tightly and sat still

"Okay Matt sweetie," Kiara said. "I need you to open up for me okay?"

Matt nodded and opened his mouth wide

Kiara sighed. She was right, she was gonna need that tube after all.

Matt whimpered softly he had a bad feeling

Ruby rubbed his hand gently. "Don't be scared Mattie, it's okay."

Matt nodded but he still was scared

Kiara unwrapped the tube and threw away the package. She sighed, she knew Matt wasn't going to like this.

Matt started to shake at the sight of the tube "no momma no."

Ruby sighed. "Matt, baby you have to," Ruby said. Kiara looked at him. "I know you're scared sweetheart, but this is going to help you."

Matt shook his head no and said "no momma no i don't want to."

"Mattie you have to," Ruby reasoned with him. "It's gonna help you breathe better."

Matt shook his head subbornly "no no no."

"Baby...." Ruby sighed. "Stop babying him, that's half his problem!" Gilbert said. "Matthew, you stop this nonsense and do what the doctor tells you boy," Gilbert scolded. "Don't yell at him!" Ruby glared at her husband.

Matt shook with fear he hated when his father was angry

"Please Mattie," Ruby pleaded gently. "I know you're scared, but I'm right here."

"momma please no" begged Matt

"Mattie, your father's right, you need to do what the doctor asks you to sweetie," Ruby said.

Matt finally nodded his head and said "ok momma"

Ruby smiled. "Okay sweetheart, I'm not going to lie to you, this might hurt a little, but once you feel it hit the back of your throat if you swallow it'll go down a lot easier, okay?" Kiara said.

Matt nodded and soon the tube was in his thoat, he hated the feeling of the tube

"I know you didn't like that sweetie, but you did great," Kiara smiled.

Matt gave a small smile but he was uncomfortble with the tube

Kiara sighed when she noticed a nurse come in with an IV kit. Did the blonde idiot HAVE to do this now?

Matt saw the iv and started to get scared again "momma"
