Let Me Fall

"DSS will keep tabs on her sir," the doctor assured.

"Ummmmmmm." Mike looked at Hailey, he really needed to talk to Jeff before he made any haisty desicions. "Hailey, is there any place you would want to go in particular?"

Hailey shook her head. "Got no wheres else," she said sadly.

Mike sighed, he couldn't get this kids hopes up only for Jeff to say no. Mike decided he would ask Jeff before they left....speaking of Jeff where was he? is he okay? "Will you guys be done soon, I need to find my friend?"

The doctor nodded. "We're just finishing up now," he said.

Mike nodded and looked at Hailey. "I'll be right back okay, I need to talk to Jeff." And with that Mike sat Hailey down and walk out the door; looking for his lover.

Jeff rested back in the bed he'd been placed in. An IV was running from his arm.

"Jeff?" Mike called quietly, he was in a doctors office he couldn't really be loud. By now Mike was worried, he couldn't find Jeff or the damn doctor.

"Mike?" Jeff questioningly called back. He looked around for his lover.

Mike stopped infront of a room he thought he heard Jeff voice coming from. Miike opend the door, releaf flooding his body. "Jeff baby, thank God!" Mike rushed to his side, showering his face in kisses.

Jeff wrapped his arms around Mike and held him close. He'd missed Mike greatly while they'd been apart.

"Im so sorry baby, they threw me out." Mike rested his fore head against Jeff's chest. "I met a little girl.....her mommas dead. They want to put her in foster care." Mike didn't know how to say this or why he wanted too because he had never wanted a kid not to mention take care of one. "Jeff I......I want to give that baby a home, I want for us to give that baby a home."

"Where is she now?" Jeff asked. "I wanna met her before I say anything." Jeff had never told Mike, but he'd always wanted to be a father, this was his chance.

"In a room down the hall, I promised I would be back." Mike nuzzled Jeff's chest. "She's so sweet, you will love her." Mike sighed. "But first we need to get you taken care of."

Jeff nodded. "Doc said I got some kind virus thing," Jeff said.

"Thats all.....thank God." Mike took Jeff's hand in his. "When can you leave?"

Jeff nodded. "Doc said in a couple of hours," Jeff said. "Ya think you can ask if you can bring the little one in here?"

"Sure." Mike kissed Jeff one more time and then left to go find Hailey. Mike got the the room where Hailey and the doctors were. "Excuse me, may I take Hailey to show my friend?"

The doctors nodded. "Miss Delessio could use some company," the doctor said.

Mike smiled and thanked the doctors, picking Hailey up and taking her to Jeff's room. "I told you I would come back." Mike whispered.

Hailey giggled, wrapping her good arm around Mike neck. "Yep, ya did," Hailey smiled. "Where we goin?"

"Well we are going to introduce you to Mr.Jeffey." Mike smiled, holding Hailey close. Mike arrived at Jeff's room and opend the door. "Jeff," Mike said sitting Hailey down on the bed beside Jeff. "Is Hailey."

"Well hello there little lady," Jeff smiled, patting the spot beside him. Hailey climbed up onto the bed next to Jeff. "Hi Jeff, you have pretty hair," Hailey said, pointing to Jeff's colored ponytail. "Can I play with it?" Jeff smiled and shook his hair loose. "Sure thing darlin"

Mike watched the seen play out. Mike sat on the other side of Jeff, rubbing up and down his arm where the scars were. Mike whispered in Jeff's ear. "What do you think." Mike closed his eyes, waiting for the negitave he was sure to come, Mike never got what he wanted; well besides Jeff.

"She's coming home with us Michael, she has to," Jeff said. He'd known Hailey for a matter of seconds and he already loved the child.
