Let Me Fall

Mike's head snapped up at the sounds of wretching. Miike flew into the bath room, comming to a stop beside Jeff. Mike held Jeff's hair out of his face while rubbing his back soothingly

Jeff lurched forward again and again as his body released what little food and water it had contained. By the time it was over he was in tears his throat burned so badly.

"Shhhhhhhh...." Mike kissed trails down Jeff's back. Mike didn't know what to do, Jeff was definatly sick. Mike didn't think he could get Jeff to go get help. "Jeffery, please." Mike sighed. "Lets go get you seen about baby."

Jeff shook his head. "No doctors," Jeff said. "Can't do that." Jeff stumbled to his feet and headed back toward the bedroom to lie down.

Mike followed him. "Do it for me, I wont sit here and watch you be sick when it can be helped by a doctor." Mike crossed his arms, if Jeff wanted to play that, then he should know that Mike came to play also. "You come willingly or I make you, simple as that." Mike glared at Jeff. "In your condition you can't do anything about it Jeffery."

Jeff looked, up at Mike with pleading green eyes. "Don't make me Mikey, please," Jeff whimpered. "You know how scared I get!"

"I'll be here Jeff. I'll protect you with my life." Mike's eyes sofented. "You mean more to me than anything else, even my own life." Mike's voice gushed with honesty.

Jeff sat there for a moment as the memories of so many years ago flooded his mind. The sudden beeping of the flat lining heart monitor. The doctors swarming to room. Jeff covered his ears in a desperate attempt to block out the sounds in his mind, shaking.

Mike gathered Jeff in his arms. "Baby please, you will be fine, I will be there with you." Mike hated this but he wouldn't left Jeff get any worse, Jeff would see a doctor weather he wanted to or not.

Jeff pulled himself up, standing on his feet slowly, he made his way to the dresser where a small jewelery box lay. He opened the box and pulled out a silver locket, an R engraved on the front. He held it tightly.

Mike didn't move, he left Jeff go but he wouldn't let him out of site. Mike eyed the locket, wondering what might be inside it. Mike sighed and slowly got up, hugging Jeff from behind. Mike proped his head on Jeff's shoulder, his hands wrapping around Jeff's waist.

Jeff eyed the locket carefully, running his thumb over it. "It was momma's," Jeff said softly when he felt Mike wrap his arms around him. "It's all I have left of her now."

Mike held Jeff tighter, knowing how much Jeff loved his mother. Mike sort of knew what Jeff was going through but then again not really; Jeff's mother was dead, she died loving him, his was alive but had dissowened him for being in love with another man. Of coarse Mike would never tell Jeff his parents disowned him, or that he had contemplated suicide several times after. The only thing that kept Mike from doing it was Jeff. "She loves you baby, shes watching over you, protecting you."

Jeff nodded slowly, trying to hold back tears. He didn't want Mike to see him cry, not again. "I think......I think I'm ready," he said after a moment.

Mike found a smile for his lover. "You'll be fine. I wont leave you if I can help it." Mike paused. "Get dressed then." Mike pulled away.

Jeff nodded, grabbing some clothes out of the dresser. He really didn't want to do this, but for Mike he would do almost anything.

Mike wondered outside being that he was already dressed. Mike took a seat on the doorstep, pulling up his sleaves and staring at the scars taht adorned his wrists. Mike sighed, remembering what led him to do such things to himself.

Jeff headed outside a few minutes later and stared down at Mike. "You ready baby?" Jeff asked.

Mike jumped, Jeff had startled him. Mike looked up at Jeff and smiled. "Yeah Babe, i'm ready." Mike stood up, stretching. Mike took the keys out of his pocket and went to the drivers side, unlocking the door and waiting for Jeff to climb in the passengers side.

Jeff climbed into the passenger seat and took a deep breath. He still really didn't want to do this, but there was no turning back now.

Mike pulled out the yard, and headed to the doctors.

Jeff stared out the window, humming softly to himself.

Mike turned the radio up, glancing over at Jeff every so often. "Feel any better?"

"Not really," Jeff groaned. He in fact felt worse, much worse than when he had gotten up that morning.

Mike placed his and gently on top of one of Jeff's knees. "My poor, sweet, baby."
