Fall For You

Mike got Paige settled down and back to sleep before he went to the door and knocked softly.
"Drew baby, let me in."

"I'll be out in a minute." Drew croaked. He was now curled up in a ball in the corner of the room.

Mike didn't like that, he didn't like the way his lover sounded.
"You open the door, or im going to break it down and then ill have to work more to buy a new one. Drew please."

Drew sighed and unlocked the door, returning to his corner.

Mike opened the door before setting eyes on his lover and sitting with him before pulling him into his lap.
"Flashback?"

"Mhm." Drew nodded slowly closing his eyes. "I'm fine though." He had these every so often. They'd been getting more and more scarce but they were still there. And they were vivid.

"Its okay baby, ill take care of you. I know I didn't that night but im stronger now. He cant hurt you, neither can anyone else."

"Mike, I don't want babied at the moment. It's fine." Drew sighed. "Just, her eyes, they do it every time..."

"I know Drew. I know." Mike sighed and kissed his lovers cheek. He hated this for his husband.

"I hate that I cannot look my own baby in the eyes without having a fucking fit."

"Not your fault though sweet heart. Its okay as long as you love her and I know you do. Its fine."

"I do." Drew nodded. He leaned back in Mike's arms. "So, tired." He murmured.

Mike carried Drew to bed and covered him up before getting on the other side.

Drew kissed Mike sweetly and was almost immediately asleep.

Mike was gone soon after, his arms wrapped tightly around his husband and his baby.

The next morning Paige was the first one awake as always. She tugged at her momma's arm but he was sound asleep so she simply pouted.

Mike slid an eye open and poked his daughter out of no where.
"What? Not going to see if ill get up?"

She giggled. The poke had tickled.
"Sowwy daddy." She gave him a toothy grin and laid on his chest.

"Why didn't you see if I was awake after you checked mommy?"
He might not like the answer but eh wanted to know.

"Because mommy always tells me I need to let you get your rest." Paige said softly.

"Well thats sweet of your momma but daddy misses you. Daddy wants you to be able to wake him up and come to him too."

"Okay Daddy." Paige laid on her father's chest for a bit before looking up at him. "I have a question daddy."

"Im sure I have an answer sweetie." Mike smiled warmly at her.

"Why don't I look like you?" She asked curiously, head tilted to the side. "Everyone says I have momma's mouth and hair but I have nothing of yours." She frowned.

Okay, so maybe Mike had an answer but he couldn't tell her that.
"I don't know baby, I guess you just didn't get any of my looks. But your mine and I love you."
She was his but then she wasn't. But he loved her all the same.
