Fall For You

He woke Mike up. Mike kissed his baby and slowly got up, careful not to wake her. He wiped the remains of the tears from his eyes and went into the living room to find Drew.
"Baby, why aren't you in bed?"

"Can't sleep." Drew muttered, he was just watching television now.

Mike sat beside him and rested his head in Drew's lap.
"Im sorry baby. I shouldn't have been crying in there, I couldnt help it."

"Damnit Mike, you're allowed to cry. It's the not letting me comfort you that's bothering me..." Drew looked away.

Mike gave a small laugh and pulled Drew to him and kissed his lips sweetly.
"You can't baby. I was crying for reason that you can't help. And I don't deserve comfort anyways sweet heart."

"You do deserve comfort Mike. You go out alll day and some of the night, just to provide for me and our baby. You deserve an award."

"No Drew, I don't.....My dad was an evil bastard but at least he was around. Not like I wanted him to be but he was.

"Mike baby, it's fine that you're not around a lot. She knows you love her." Drew sighed.

"Drew, stop that. She needs a father and you need a husband. Im lacking, you need a stable family man and that is all there is to it."

"Michael Mizanin, you are the most wonderful man in the world. I am so lucky to have you. I wouldn't give you up for anything."

"Not even someone who is home more to keep you company and be daddy to Paige. That's what you need."

"No baby. Not even for that. You're just trying to help. Trying to make sure Paige and I have a good life."

".....I think I need therapy, im having a hard time with all this. Maybe I can be home more..."

Drew sighed.
"Okay baby. I'll find you a good therapist."

"Nah, that cost alot of money that can be put into Paige's collage funds." Mike drug a hand across his tired face.

"Baby if you need it you can have it." He kissed Mike's cheek.

"Yeah, well.....Are tired?"
Mike was always tired but he was not going to sleep with Drew like this.

"Yes. Very." Drew nodded, yawning. "Plus, at least one of use needs to be laying with Paige." He stood.

Mike nodded, he was going to sit there for a while. He was bothered.

"You coming baby?" Drew sighed.

"No, I think I might stay in here for a little while. Ill come to bed in a minute."
Mike gave a halfhearted smile.

"Then I'm not either. I'll wait." Drew sighed.

"Drew baby, Paige needs her momma to sleep with her. Im fine, go to bed sweetheart." Mike blew him a kiss.

Drew sighed. That was more upsetting thenMike never being home. He turned and walked back into the bedroom, closing the door behind him.

Mike laid down on the couch. He was quiet for a long time before he picked up his phone.
"Hey."
"Yeah, I know what time it is."
"I know, it is out of the blue but your the only one besides Drew I can really talk to...well you and Quinton."
"Im just having a hard time, you know I have a daughter and a husband?"
"Yeah, and there is not a problem with them, they are the best. Paige is the sweetest little girl in the world and Drew is just incredible. The problem is with me"
A short strangled laugh.
"I know, but this time its killing me. Im falling apart. Im on depression pills and so much more. Im never home, and you know Paige needs a daddy."
A shaky sigh.
"No, Drew is perfect but I know, I know he hated this. This not the life he wants, its miserable for him. He is going to leave me. He needs a husband and a Father. He looks at me like im...like im just horrible, the shitiest husband and father in the world. Slowly but for sure its breaking me down. You know I can't take this, I was never the strong one, you and Daffy were always taking care of me. Im just so fucked up."
There was a silence in which the person on the other end was talking.
"Okay, thank you."
"Love you too, and I will call you."
'I miss you. Night."
