Just A Number..

"Fine." Zac shook it off as he stood, only a small hiss of pain escaping his lips. "Watch out!" Rick had come at Quincy from behind, clocking him hard in the back of the head. Zac cursed softly, but he was slightly happy that Quincy had cared enough to check on him.

Quincy stood up to his full height and hit Rick as hard as he could.
"Back the fuck off."

Goddamn he was sexy when angry....
Zac shook his head and took his fathers hand.
Rick cursed and clutched where Quincy had hit him.
"Daddy see what ya got yourself into?" He rolled his eyes and turned to Quincy. "HE is sorry."
Rick growled.
"Now get." Zac kicked his father in the ass. Rick stormed away. Zac turned and gave a small wave before going after his dad.
Rick fumed the whole way back to the house.
"Fucker helped Quincy!" He exclaimed as he burst in the door, finger pointed at Zac.

"Don't call him that Rick." Kevin glared at his fiace heatedly.
Mike looked at him and shook his head.

"He distracted me! Let that asshole hurt me!" Rick cursed as he clutched his jaw. Zac simply stared.
"I was trying to get you to stop because I didn't want you hurt jackass." Zac muttered. "I knew he was stronger than you. That's why." He lied.
"He is not! I was doing fine until you jumped on me!"
"And then you threw me against the wall." His back was still throbbing.

Kevin lookefd at Mike.
"Get Rick, I got Zac."
Mike took Rick and lead him off and Kevin stared at Zac.
"Baby....You were protecting that monster?"

Zac sighed.
"No momma. I was trying to protect daddy. I knew Quincy would hurt him so I wanted to stop him." He lied softly.

"Baby....Please don't lie to me...Just tell me the truth. Im not memaw and im not daddy..." Kevin pleaded with his baby.

"Momma, I just didn't see why daddy was gonna hurt him. I mean, you haven't talked to him in a while. What if... he's really really REALLY sorry and wishes he hadn't done it...?"

Kevin gave him a look.
"Come here and talk to me. You have talked to him more in the past day then me. Im not going to yell or anything. Tell me about him."

"Like what? I'm not an expert on him." He said softly as he moved to sit beside his mother.

"But you have been going out and talking to him. Memaw says he is your first crush. Tell me about him."

Zac rolled his eyes.
"I do NOT have a crush on him." He muttered softly, looking down. But his mother was taking this better than memaw had.

Kevin sighed.
"Please....This is me your talking to Zac.....If you can't talk to me who can you talk to? Quincy is not here every day for you, I am..."

"Momma I only saw him yesterday. It was by accident. I didn't know who he was. We talked about stuff. He was cute. He made me laugh. End of story."

Kevin lookd away, hurt clear on his face.
Zac continued to lie to him...

"Momma please don't be upset with me..." Zac sighed, hugging his mother.

"How can I not? Your straight out lying to me...." Kevin whispered quietly, his voice cracking.
He was way to stressed, he used to never fucking cry before he met Rick.

"Momma... it's not a big deal okay... I'll tell you more..." He sighed, he didn't know where to start. "I snuck back out last night after you were sleeping."

Kevin hugged him and gave a small nod, nothing more he just listened.

Zac sighed.
"We just talked momma. He's nice to me... I brought up what he did to you and memaw. He told me about it and how he regretted it but he couldn't change it. I didn't want daddy to hurt him cause I saw last night, he is sorry. I don't know how he was before but he's different now..."

"Okay.....You still shouldn't be out at night. Maybe if I go just talk to him you can start going over to his house...."

"Daddy won't like that. Momma, I dont plan on doing it again..." He lied. He didn't want to tell his father. Didn't want to tell his grandpa either. His grandpa hated Quincy even more than Rick did if that was possible.

Kevin poped his lightly across the face. He felt stupid, Rick Jr could hit harder than that.
"No more lying to me Zachary Evan McGuire."

"Momma stop it. I'm not lying to you." Zac sighed, resting his head on his mother's shoulder.
