Can't Go On

LAnce sighed at his father, frowning.
"Momma, you heard me right?"
"Yeah baby." Chris nodded with a sympathetic smile.
Lance nodded and walked out the door, over to his brother and David's place.

Dustin was not letting up, he acted like Lance wasn't there. Dewayne was trying to cook and failing miserably. It was supposed to just be something nice for his lover but it seemed he couldnt to the simplest thing.

David had been watching Dewayne for a while now from the kitchen doorway. He chuckled and walked over to him.
"Need some help there?"
Lance knocked on the door. David ran to open it.
"Oh hey Lance." He smiled. "C'mon in, you too Riley."

Riley grinned at him, his arm around Lance's waist.
Dewayne looked over at him and growled.
"Okay you horny little fucker! Get your hands off him in my presence!!! He is only fourteen!!"
Riley blushed and let go while Dewayne strut about the kitchen muttering about naughty horny devil children.

"I think he's PMSing." David laughed and tugged Dewayne into his arms. "Calm down babe. i don't think Lance can get pregnant again from his arm." He smiled.

"Its not fair!!! He is pregnant! Fourteen!!! Im eighteen!!! We havent had sex yet! Damn devil children!!! Horny ass devil children!!" He whined into Davids shoulder.

David laughed.
"Soon enough precious, soon enough." He kissed his forehead. "So any reason you two came over?" He asked as he took over the food Dewayne had started.
"I was wondering if you could take a look at the baby then?"
"Oh sure thing Lance. Just let me finish this first so Dewayne doesn't burn the house down." He winked.

Dewayne pouted.
"I was trying to be romantic for you!!"
Riley hid behind Lance.

"Hmm, be romantic another way baby." He chuckled, kissing his cheek. He finished the food. "Oh look what you did Dewayne. You scared Riley now." He chuckled and made Dewayne a plate. "You eat up imma go check on your nephew." He grinned and led Lance and Riley to the room he used for all of his doctor stuff.

Dewayne followed, sitting down to watch while he ate his food. Dewayne was a bad cook, so bad that he even burned water.
That is not a dramatization.

"Lay down for me and take off your shirt." David instructed while he set up the machine. Lance did as he was told and took Riley's hand. David spread the jelly onto his stomach.

Riley kissed his hand softly, watching with interest, giddy to see his baby.

After a few minutes of searching around Lance's stomach a frown formed on David's face.
"Lance how far along are you?"
"SHould be two or three months..."
David's frown deepened.

Riley squeezed his hand.
"Something wrong David?"
Dewayne put his food down, looking at the monitor, his heart breaking for his brother. He had gotten to know a little with his mother and lover being doctors....

"Lance... are you two positive you're pregnant?"
"Yeah. A hundred percent." Lance nodded.
"How did you find out?"
"I took a test."
"Lance... those tests aren't always accurate..."

Riley frowned.
"What are you getting at?"
Dewayne hugged his brother.

"Riley... theres nothing in there. There's no baby..." David said softly.
Lance blinked up at him.
"B-but..."

Riley said nothing, he just looked away.
He hadnt been ready but......
He had loved a kid that was never there.

"Riley... I'm so sorry..." That must be devastating... David frowned at the couple

"Its fine David. Thank you. We are too young for a kid anyways." He stood and stepped off into the other room, resting his head in his hands.
It was devastating.
It hurt.

Lance didn't even move. He covered his face and bit his lower lip.
His baby... hadn't even been there...

Dewayne hugged Lance tightly.
"Shhhh Its okay Lance, its okay."
Riley only needed a moment to collect himself before stepping back in and taking Lance from Dewayne.
"Th'alright baby."

"Yeah... its fine... probably a good thing." Lance sighed and stood. "Thanks anyway David..."

Riley hugged him tightly.
"Baby...."
He picked his lover up and carried him off.
Dewayne hugged David, sighing softly.
"Well that sucks..."

"I feel so bad for them.." David sighed. He hated giving bad news...

Lance was silent all the way home. He led Riley in the front door.
"Good news dad. Theres no baby. Still hate me?" Lance said and walked away, straight up to his bedroom.
