War On The Heart

"Yeah....Get married....Live together in America maybe away from all of this." Quincy smiled.

Zac grinned widely, nodding happily at the older boy.

Quincy chuckled, nodding and pecking his cheek.
"Sounds like a good life to me."

"Very good life." He nodded. Perfect.
now if only they could make it that long.

Quincy was going to make sure Zac made it that long.

Zac laid down, gently tugging Quincy with him.

Quincy curled up with him, his eyes slipping shut as he drifted off.

Zac smiled at the man beside him. And for the first time he really thought everything would be alright...

But it wasn't....
Late at Night months later, their home was raided. Nazi's came in, looking for any sign's of a Jew in the home. Quincy had gotten up Quincy, pushing Zac in the vent and getting back in bed to pretend to sleep when the door was kicked down and the men invaded the room.

Zac trembled, staying quiet as a mouse as he crawled as far back as he could in the small vent.

"I hear you have been hiding a jew. Your girlfriend told us all about it..." A whip could be heard, cracking down on skin with Quincy's pained hiss.
"No, I wouldn't keep a Jew....They are dirty money grubbing bastard."

Zac chewed his lower lip nervously as he listened.
THey were hurting him... he wanted to help... but he couldn't..

More cracking as they tried to get Quincy to talk, having the others search the room for Zac.
"You know I can kill you right?"
....
A loud crack.
"Right!"
"Yes sir!"

Zac cringed.
He knew they were coming for him... it would only be a matter of time before he was found...

Quincy fell infront of the vent, bleeding heavily but glaring at the soldiers.
"Im not hiding anything..."

Zac let out a small gasp.
"Quincy..." It was merely a whisper. Barely audible...

The men caught it, tearing open the vent and grabbing Zac. Quincy growled, standing and fighting to get Zac in his arms, holding him close and protecting him.
"Ha! Not hiding a Jew are ya? Well you love em so much you can live like em, and DIE like them." The men beat Quincy a bit, trying to tear Zac away from him but the man refused to let it be done so they just drug him and Zac out of the home, followed by Dustin.

Zac hung his head, saying nothing.
The perfect life he'd been dreaming of, planning.... was never going to become a reality...

Quincy was whispering, prayers in German with his eyes clenched Shut.
"Zac....If they want you....they will come through me...."

"no... Quincy... let them have me. Stay alive if you can..." Zac whispered back, shaking his head furiously.

"No, I wont do it. I wouldnt even be here if not for you, I started it and imma finish it....ill protect you until I die...I love you..."

"I love you too Quincy..." Zac sighed, praying softly to himself.

The men took them and threw them on a train that would take then to the nearest Death camp.

This was it.. it was over... it was all for nothing.
Zac hadn't been praying for himself lately. He'd been praying that they spared Quincy...

And Quincy was vise versira, hoping Zac was spared. They were taken from the train and lined up, weak ones to the gas-chamber, strong ones to a concentration camp to work.
