Cowgirls Don't Cry.

Dustin knew this and it hurt....So much it hurt.....
He loved Devin....he wanted to be here to kick Lane's ass when he hurt Devin, he wanted to be here to hold his grandchild and spoil it rotten...He needed to be here to be the man to give his son away and threaten Lane's life if he ever cheated or hit him....

Devin let a few tears slip out but just a few... he would be strong.

"Devin..." Dustin whispered softly. "You go ahead and you cry as much as you need to. I wont be here to kick Lane's ass if he hurts you, I wont be here to give my baby boy away...I wont be here to coddle my grandkids but im here now so let me at least hold my son while I can, you cry all you want...so I can hold you."

Devin did as his father wanted and let it out. He sobbed softly into his father's chest.

Dustin hugged him tight, dropping kisses in his hair.
"Oh baby....Ill miss you so much..."

"I'll miss you too daddy... so much..." He sighed, hugging him tight.

Dustin wondered who would be there to walk his son down the isle....

Devin wasn't sure. He didn't want Alex anywhere near his wedding... yes he was spiteful but still...

"Maybe....Lane's father? Or my dad can do it since you dont like Quincy and dont know Quinton....What about your momma?"

"Um... I dunno." He shook his head. "You mean Alex or Chris?" Sometimes if he was feeling nice he'd call Chris momma too.

"Alex but im sure Chris would be happy too do it for me if im not here baby." He nodded to himself, confident his husband wouldnt mind.

"Maybe Chris." He nodded. He knew Alex would be devastated if he wasn't invited to the wedding but he'd figure that out when it happened...

Dustin sighed and looked at his son.
"Baby....You invite your momma to that wedding when you have it...."

"I don't want to..." He sighed, averting his gaze.

"Well I don't want Chris to be pregnant but im sure he is. I dont want to have cancer but I do. I don't want to have Mike as my enemy but he is...Baby we gotta do what we gotta do, He is your momma..."

"But daddy..." He sighed. He didn't want Alex to prance over and steal his lover on their wedding day...

"Devin, you look at me. If Lane truly loves you...on your wedding day he wont give Alex a second glance...And for me...A dying wish for me, invite him...and I know its not fair but im also asking you to watch out for Chris."

"Daddy." He sighed heavily but nodded. "okay.."

"Thank you baby...So much..." This just proved he did love Alex...Not like he did Chris but he really did love Alex as a friend and the mother of two if his kids."

Alex would have been so greatful if he knew...
"You're welcome daddy..."

Dustin laid down on the couch, keeping his son on his chest.
"My sweet baby.."

"Yeah... I'm your baby boy..." He nodded, kissing his cheek

"Yeah....But you listen here...When im gone...Carry on alright rejoice, everything you think of me, know im thinking of you somewhere and im smiling...and im not in any pain, so baby you do the same and smile back alright?"

"OKay daddy..." He nodded. "I will..."

Dustin sighed softly, looking up at Dewayne came through the door, glaring at him before stomping off to the kitchen.
"Well I can sure count on him not to tip toe cant I?"
