"Okay, I like the honesty." He nodded. "But I don't want you to leave those kids. Alex and Sydney love you so much. It would hurt them so bad to lose not one but both of you." Critter sighed. "But I am a man of my word so yeah, I will and as long as im alive the kids will be taken care of."

"I'm going to try. I really am. Just in case." Alex sighed.

Critter nodded, noticing the ring Mike gave Alex. "You know, he says that's from Daffy...its not, he says that because saying where he really got it is excepting she is never coming back." Critter took a deep breath. "I bought that for my wife on our third anniversary. He always loved it so she wanted him to have it. I gave it to him like she wanted, he only wore it some day's but he wore it through everything with you he said." Critter smiled. "He and my wife were like brother and sister." He nodded. "Your special if he gave that to you because for so long that was one of his prized possessions."

Alex smiled, it made him feel a bit better knowing that it wasn't Daffy's.
The puking had stopped.
"You wanna check if hes okay before I go in there?" Alex asked.

Critter nodded, getting up and going into the bathroom. He swallowed hard, "Mikey, boo....I think I need to call the nurse." A weak incoherent mumble.
"Im serious, you look worse than usual, im going -MIKE!" Critter disappeared into the room, soon bringing out and unconscious Mike. Critter shook his head and handed Mike to Alex "He just....fainted I suppose. Let me go get a nurse to make sure." Critter quickly walked away, leaving Alex and the ghost of the man that once was his husband alone.

Alex let out a small sob as he held Mike tightly.
"Baby, I missed you so much." He whispered although he knew Mike wasn't conscious.

Alex Jr came back in. "Not to tight daddy." He whispered softly, kissing his mothers cheek.

Alex loosened his hold, roughly wiping away a few tears.

"Im sorry daddy, I shouldn't have brought you here. I should have know better." Alex Jr sighed. "I just wanted him to see you as soon as possible."

"It's okay darlin'. You didn't know how I was with hospitals. And you didn't know that this would happen."

Mike gave a weak cough that rattled his weak chest. His eyes closed, he lay limply. "D-Damn it C-Critter...I think d-dying." He weakly rasped.

"Don't die on me baby. Please." Alex said softly, blinking back more tears.

Mike slowly blinked one eye open, then the other. "A-Alex?" He swallowed as tears fell from his eyes.

"Yeah baby. I can stay home for a while this time." Alex gave a half hearted smile.

Mike coughed again, struggling to sit up with his inflated stomach. It was so hard to move any at all.

"It's okay baby. Take it easy." Alex said softly with a sigh.

Mike finished sitting up before leaning heavily on Alex's chest. Mike didn't have any strength left to use at the moment.

"I love you sweety." Alex cooed gently, stroking his husband's hair.

Mike felt....out of place with Alex, he husband, so strong hansom and sexy but next to him, sickly, gross and almost bald.

Alex felt sick himself. His face was losing color quickly. His husband smelled like the one thing he couldn't stand. Death.

Mike coughed again. "I missed you.." He rasped weakly, the chemo always hurt him so much but it was helping him.

"I missed you too darlin'." Alex breathed, coughing himself a bit.

Mike knew his husband well enough to know this was not something he was enjoying. "Y-You can go....." Mike looked around. "I-Im sure Critter'll be back s-soon."

"No. I want to be here with you." Alex said calmly.

"Alex b-baby," A pause "You dont n-need this. I know you d-don't like it. I'll be h-home soon enough." Mike weakly rasped.
