I Dream Of Death

Critter got Mike taken care of.
He sat beside him and pulled him into his arms, the sick man resting heavily on him. Soon they were both asleep, Mike being protected in Critters tight embrace.

Alex eventually got it to work. One moment he was lying on the cold tile floor and the next he was sitting in their old house, watching Rick cuddle Sydney on the sofa.
"Boo!" He beamed.
Sydney squealed.

Critter was confused, he loved Alex more than anything but he wanted to love Mike too.

"Daddy!" Syndey exclaimed, running and jumping on her father, only to fall right through and land on the ground.
Rick chuckled and helped her up.
"Sorry Syd, haven't gotten the hang of this yet and I don't know how to stop being transparent." He smiled apologetically.
She grinned.
"It's alright, I just am glad to see you... how's momma? He hasn't visited in a while."
"Uhm, not so good at the moment.." Alex frowned.
Sydney tilted her head to the side, she knew something was up.
"Let's just say when I wasn't there Daffy didn't treat momma very well..."
Sydney narrowed her eyes.
"Daddy what did he do?"
Alex leaned in and whispered in her ear. When he pulled back her eyes were filled with anger and tears.
"Imma kill him when I get up there. How dare he hurt Momma... momma loved him."
"Don't worry the second I find his sorry ass he's getting what he deserves."
She nodded, satisfied.
"Well baby I just wanted to say hi, I'll be back more often now." He smiled.
"Air hug." She grinned and wrapped her arms around the angel's form.
He chuckled.
"Love you." He said before going back up to Mike.

Critter was in the same place, Mike in his arms as he thought this over.

"Hey baby." Alex gave a small smile as he sat down on the other couch.

"Hey.....Did you get anything from seeing Sydney?" Critter asked.

"Didn't talk too much. Rick was there. Didn't want to get too personal but I'll do it again sometime she's alone."

Critter nodded.
"Alex....do you really have a problem with all three of us?"

"Kinda... I just, I'm a one man kind of guy. I know you guys think I'm the exact opposite but I'm not. I love both of you but I can only be in a real relationship with one at a time." Alex sighed.

"Boo, im like you but I can try this. I love you with all my heart and he is second."

"I'll try I guess. It's just... i don't know. Different."

"I dont want to make you uncomfortable Boo. Is it because you dont want to share me or do you not want to share him?"

"Both..." Alex frowned. "You know how over jealous I am baby..."

"Okay, so you don't want me touching him? And you don't want him touching me.....is that your problem with this? Its......hell I dont k now if it can be fixed."

"I know baby. I'm just selfish I'm sorry. I want you both to myself." He sighed.

"You would have a fit if I kissed him?"
Critter wanted to try out a theory, some would say it was hot but Alex might be pissed. He needed to try it though.
He gripped Mike's face in his hands and softly kissed his lips.

The fire stirred in the pit of Alex's stomach.
His hands clenched into fists.
"Yeah that ain't gonna work." He said through gritted teeth. He wasn't mad at Lane but no way he could deal with that.

Lane sighed and held Mike to his chest, gently rocking him.
"Boo.....I don't want him to hurt anymore....."

"I don't either. But baby if I didn't love you so much I would've punched you for doing that."

Critter cracked a grin.
"You were more jealous because I had my hands on him. Not because of me you were jealous it was because of him."
Alex loved Mike, there was no doubt about it.

"Well yeah... I'm sorry is that bad?" Alex hadn't been jealous of Lane. He never had that instinctive protectiveness over Lane like he did Mike.

"No....You love him too. You dont have to worry about me and you know that. We both worry about him constantly. You feel like he is yours........and he is."

"I believe he says otherwise..." Alex let out a heavy sigh as he pulled back a piece of clothing slowly, revealing Daffys carving of the word MINE.

Critter frowned.
"He wants to be yours....But your mine, and you wont have him and he cant just be your friend...what else should he believe Alex?"

Critter softly traced over the deep scar.
