I Dream Of Death

Alex frowned, feeling stupid. He felt like a kid again. That one kid who always got laughed at because their crush said no when they finally got up the courage to ask them out. He bit back tears.
"Whatever."

Critter stopped.
"Alex sweetheart. Don't be like that. Do you have to feel like this because MIKE of all people has the mark to?"

"Yes. If it was anyone else I wouldn't care as much. It'd hurt but this time BOTH of you were taken from me. Mike became yours and you gave him the mark. I lost a part of both of you."

Critter sighed.
"You didnt lose either of us, but we both gained something. You dont want us to love each other."

"No I don't. I won't lie. I don't want you to love each other. I could deal with you each loving someone else... but not each other." He sighed.

"Why not."
Critter turned to look at him, he would rather love Mike than some stranger.,

"Because, I care about you both too much if you love each other... it... i don't know but the pain is thousand's times worse."

"The how will you have us both..."
Lane was scared to lose Alex.

"I don't know. I'm so selfish. I can't do the three way thing but I need you both.."

"Then what do we do..........I.......I dont want to lose you Alex and neither does Mike..."

"I don't know..." Alex sighed. Heblinked back tears. Why couldn't he pick?

Critter frowned. his heart told him to be selfish but he didn't want to hurt Alex....

"I'm sorry Lane. So sorry for doing this to you. For bringing you into this hell that has always been my life..."

Lane looked at him sharply.
"It might be hard now but you had a good life with Mike and those babies."

"I did. There were good times, but Lane, shit always seems to follow me. So much stuff has happened to Mike because of me...."

"But he loves you so much.....you cant just leave him again Alex........"

"I'm not going to." Alex said firmly.

"Then your leaving me..." Lane whispered as he let go of Alex's hand and continued walking.

"No. I can't do that either." Alex sighed, catching back up with Lane.
"Lane you can't do that to me. Can't get all upset when I think of leaving Mike, then freak when you think i'll leave you. What is the right answer here baby?"

"Well damn Alex, one of us will be left, you get your choice but we both know one of us will end up alone and heart broken and your too loved for that to be you."

Alex sighed.
"I'd rather be the one left alone then have to hurt one of you..."

"But you wont be. Me and Mike love you to much to allow that and you know it."

"I honestly have no clue why you love me so much. I'm a fucking asshole."

"Yeah but your our asshole and we love you." Lane sighed, his eyes boring into Alex's lovingly.

"I don't deserve so much love..." He didn't want so much love. Maybe it'd be easier.
