I Dream Of Death

"I love you to Alex McCormick."
He couldn't get enough of saying that name.

"Hmm..." Alex hummed to himself, trying to not think about what was going on in the other room.

"You want to go talk to him?"
The room had been quiet before a loud wail sounded, Mike's pained scream.

Alex whimpered at the scream.
"N-no..."

"Mike?" Lane called out imploringly.

"You shut the fuck up and leave me the hell alone McCormick. If you wanna talk to me you can talk while im kicking your ass and dont bring your God damn body guard with you!" Mike spat, the fever getting him even more pain as he thoughts clouded over.

Alex whimpered.
"Mike baby I'm sorry. Don't be mad at him..."

Mike growled.
"You don't talk to me right now McCormick! No, you wont hit my but you'll stab me with a fucking knife!"

"It was an accident!" Alex cried. "I didn't mean to hurt you!"

"Yeah! That's why you ran off with your husband to finish up your fucking before thinking twice about if I hadn't be dead already that would have killed me!"

"W-we didn't finish! And Sarah m-made me leave!" Alex sobbed.

"She didn't make you so shit! You broke my Jaw you could have easily told her no and there would have been nothing she could have done! But no, you fucking left me!!"

"I... I..." Alex stammered blankly. There was no right answer to this.

"That's what I thought!" Mike screamed as Sarah tried to wipe away the heart broken angry tears.

Alex buried his head in the pillow again.
He'd never make Mike feel bad or try to change him but this was only reminding him why he loved Lane more.

Lane sighed and patted his back.
"Its okay Boo, he dont mean it, he is just fevered and hurt.....we did leave him there.."

"I'm sick... of this." Alex let out a heavy sigh.
He hated this. Absolutely hated it. The constant bickering, arguing, tears, heartbreak... He didn't regret loving Lane. But part of him wished he would have never moved on from Mike like he promised. He hated the constant guilt everyone thrust upon him.
He wished they weren't alive so he could just end it. End his life. He wouldn't have to choose. Mike and Lane could get together. Mourn his loss although they really should celebrate it.
He let his tears stain the pillow, the damp fabric irritating him. All he wanted was nice, warm, cozy... like Lane. He wanted to hold Lane and never let him go. But he couldn't in fear of hurting Mike.
It wasn't fair damnit. Why couldn't he just be happy?
It was always Mike, Mike, Mike. Or Lane, Lane, Lane. When did he just get to think about Alex? What Alex wanted? What Alex needed?

Lane looked around the room. Maybe it was best if he just told Mike to let go. If he crushed Mike's hope because this was hurting Alex but it would hurt him and Mike more. But he knew it was probably what Alex needed, he needed them to be alone. Lane got up and exited the room, going to find Mike and Sarah. They spoke but in the end Mike was leaving, he wasn't going to keep on hurting Alex like this. Mike took a few things and walked out the door. They all knew where he was going though, he was going to Daffy and neither Lane nor Sarah liked it. Sarah went to Mike's room so she could clean it up and Lane, well Lane sat down where Mike was sitting previously and he put his head in his hands. Lane McCormick cried because he had just crushed his very best friend. They had both agreed that no mater what, Alex would be safer with Lane, he would feel better with Lane. They made the choice for him.

Eventually Alex was all cried out. He walked over to Mike's room. But he didn't find Mike.
"Wh-where is he?"

"Sarah looked up from her cleaning of the blood on the plush baby blue carpet.
"H-He......He is gone him and Lane had a talk and Mike is.....he's gone." She admitted quietly.

"Wh-where'd he go?" He would not let Mike go back to Daffy.

Sarah sighed.
"I tried to stop him....He went to Daffy's...."
She loathed that fact.

Alex turned to Lane angrily.
"You let him?!"

Lane picked his head up and rolled his shoulders.
"I didn't stop him."

"He's going to..." Alex didn't finish that statement. He was going to say daffy would hurt him. But Alex was hurting him worse.

Lane raised his brow, he knew what Alex was thinking.
"Its okay Boo..." He tried to comfort.
