Story Of The Year(Anyone)

After a few attempts at starting a conversation, Alex's mother gave up. They finished eating and Alex asked if he could be excused..

Ted sat quietly, not knowing what he was supposed to do. He didn't want to be left alone with Alex's family.

"Ted are you finished eating?" Alex asked. He sat back down. He would wait if Ted was not finished.

"Yeah..."
In his mind he was begging Alex not to leave him alone with his family.

"Well whenever you want we can go up to my room. Or we can stay down here."

"Your room please...." Te fidgeted nervously as he stood up and waited for Alex.

Alex grinned as he walked Ted to the stairs.
"Walk this time." He smiled.

"Okay..."
Well that was embarrassing.
Ted carefully walked up the stairs and followed Alex to his room.

Alex frowned and hugged Ted.
"I was just kidding."

"Im just clumsy is all. Its fine, I wouldn't wanna mess up your momma's floor." Ted leaned on him. He was so tired but he knew he had to get up and go again tomorrow.

"You look tired." Alex said softly. "Come lay down with me." He smiled, tugging him towards the bed.

Ted let himself be pulled down onto the bed. He really was tired, but he wanted to spend more time with Alex before going to sleep because he would have to leave soon.

"So... are you going to leave in the morning?" Alex asked. He didn't want Ted to go, he liked this boy so far.

"Your momma probably don't want me to stay over to long." Ted sighed, his small hand rubbing his cheek. It made him miss his mother, not like she kissed his cuts anymore, but still. And he was scared of the dark and it was getting dark...

Alex frowned.
"I don't want you to leave..." His bottom lip jutted out.

"I dont wanna leave either...I dont have anywhere to go but...I can't stay." He pouted but it was his own fault for running and then getting attached to this boy.

"Well what if you stay here? You can just live up here. And I'll sneak up extra food for you. I'll hide you so my momma doesn't know you ran away..."

Ted stared at him incredulously.
"Your serious? We can't Alex.....She will find out and you will be in trouble and I will be turned i.,.."

"I'm dead serious... it's not safe for you to be out there alone." Alex said.

"So....Alex you dont even know me! Im a stranger....And you will be in trouble." Ted furrowed his brows.

"But I don't care. I like you and I don't want you to go out there alone. You could get hurt." Alex frowned.

"I got hurt here." Ted smiled and hugged the other boy.
"I dont wanna get you in trouble Alex."

"I'll hide you up here. Momma won't find out so i can't get in trouble."

Ted shivered and snuggled close to the other boy.
"Alex..."
Ted frowned..remembering what Alex's sister had done.
"And your already in trouble for kissing me..."

"I don't care though." Alex frowned as he wrapped an arm around Ted and hugged him.
