Listen To The Thunder

"Your mother is telling you to go to Kevin's room." Mike pouted, he was treated like a child, he was so incompetent.

"Mike, my father also told me not to let you go somewhere alone." Rick sighed.

"Fine. Im going outside then." He walked out the door and let it slam behind him.

Rick sighed but stepped outside behind him. He leaned on the door frame as he kept an eye on Mike.

Mike simply laid down and stared up, he could see stars and everything. He whimpered and softly sang.
"Love takes the patience of job...thats what my momma always said..."

Rick sat down and watched Mike, small smile on his face.

He grew quiet and help up his arm to stare at the name carved into it, a small smile on his face.
"It's three A.M, and I finally, im sorry...for acting that way..."

Alex had just woken up. He wondered where Mike had gone. He looked out the window and saw him and Rick. He quietly walked outside. He tapped Rick on the shoulder and gestured for him to go in. He took Rick's place.
"I didn't really mean to make you cry... Baby, sometimes I wonder why..." He sang softly, smiling at Mike.

Mike looked surprised, turning to Alex was a warm smile.
"Does it always have to come down, to you leaving, before ill say I love you...."

"C'mere darlin." Alex smiled and pulled Mike to him. "I love you."

"I love you more." Mike kissed his lips softly before gently caressing his cheek.

"Nuh uh." Alex gave a smile. But they both knew Mike did....

Mike just grinned at him and nodded.
"Yes huh." There was no use in arguing.

"Let's not argue baby..." Alex pecked his lips and ran his fingers through his hair.

"Because we both know who wins." Mike winked and nuzzled Alex's chest. He could grin with his face but he could smile until it hurt so bad be wanted to cry.

Alex sighed softly.
"But I do love you. A lot baby..."

"I know you do...."
But at one point he loved Lane more.

"Please believe me.... baby..." Alex hated it. Hated how Mike no longer believed him when he said he loved him. Hated himself for loving Lane..

Mike tried to believe him, he really did but it was so hard now that he had left him..even though he came back. "I do....."

Alex sighed.
"I hate myself for this... I always will.."

Mike looked up with a frown.
"Baby, what in the world are you hating yourself for? You don't hate yourself...no...."

"For leaving you. For ever trying to move on. For loving someone else. For making you not believe me when I say I love you." Alex's own eyes were welling up with tears.

"Oh Alex, baby....I wanted you to move on, to be happy when I died and im glad you did, Lane took care of you and made you happy, I was watching, I know. And I don't blame you for loving him baby, Lane is a damn good man and you deserve some one like him. I know you love me, Its just hard sometimes because we both know you should be with him right now. I love you, I could never hate you, so you don't hate you...." Mike showered his face with kisses.

Alex clenched his fist and teeth, refusing to let the tears fall.
"Goddamnit, I knew I should've said no that night. In the damn cemetery. I shouldn't have ever considered it. I should've slapped him for suggesting it.
I should have... but I didn't." He put his head in hishands.

"I was watching baby, I saw and I know he made you feel again, you were so happy. I dont regret that, i want you to be happy so if I had to let go and him slowly steal you from me...I did and he took care of you. You smiled so much, and I still think that no matter what I need, I want you to have Lane because he is YOU need, he takes care of my Alex. Don't you regret that."
