I Dream Of Death

"I'm still not sure babe..." Alex sighed.

"I can make you hit me again." He kissed Mike's cheek, before pulling away, a frown creasing his features. Mike was really burning up and it was a little scary. They were over here arguing and Mike must have been hurting because with a temperature this high you cant feel good.

"Alex," Lane began. "Im scared now, he is to fucking hot. Here." He handed Mike to Alex and got up. "There is a bed room for you and me, take him there and lay with him until I come back." Critter ordered as he left the room to go find Sarah and see if there was anything at all she could do for him.

Mike lay perfectly still in Alex's arms, his breathing uneven, very shallow. His face a bright pink and his skin hot to the touch. He would whimper every now and again. He felt cold but he was so fucking hot he was burning up. Funny how a fever works.

"My poor baby." Alex cooed. He missed Mike so much. Missed the feel of his lips. Missed being inside of him. Missed just holding his small form back when it didnt have all these scars. Missed being able to shower that beautiful face with kisses. Most of all missed feeling that love just emanating from Mike 24/7.

Mike cracked an eye open before closing it back again. He shivered in Alex's arms. "Im cold...." He wished he could just sleep forever, he didn't feel good at all. He wondered where he was and he was certain he had told Alex to get away from him and leave him alone, he didn't know anything anymore. He just knew that he was in Alex's arms so he was safe.

Alex sat Mike down a minute and walked out of the room. He came back a moment later with a blanket.
He laid back down in the bed with Mike in his arms. Then he covered theselves with it, wrapping Mike up as tight but gentle as possible.

"Where did Critter go? I swear he was holding me....."
Critter had been holding him and trying to comfort him....trying to love him because Alex wasn't.

"Umm... I sort of... punched him in the jaw..." Alex said bluntly.

"What did he do? Get in your face or something?"
That was what he thought he was doing when Alex hit him.

"No..." Alex paused. "He kissed you.."

"So you hit him for that?..........Well he is your husband...." Mike didn't think it had anything to do with him.

"No... you don't get it Mike. I couldn't stand someone other than me kissing you." Alex sighed.

"But you love him more? You hit him for me?"
Mike was confused as hell now.

Alex nodded.
"I'm confused too baby..." He sighed.

"Alex....."
Mike wasn't sure what to do. How in the hell did this all work?

"And... I'd do the same thing if he kissed you again. I don't regret it." Alex said quietly.

"Alex baby, what are you getting at?"
Mike wanted to hope Alex loved him like he did Critter.

"I wish I knew baby... Can I... can i please kiss you?" Alex looked up at Mike, praying that the answer was yes.

"You might get sick.......I don't know if im contagious or not but if you dont care then.......yes."

"I don't care." Alex shook his head and cupped Mike's face in his hands. Then like old times, their lips met and the sparks flew. It sent a shock through Alex's entire body. He loved Mike Mizanin Riley. (He would never call him anything but that)
"Mike... I love you." He said firmly when he pulled away. And he knew that from the look in his eyes, Mike had to know he meant it.
He began wondering how he had ever thought he loved Lane more. He did love Lane. But now that he had Mike back he found it unbelievable to think that he could ever love anyone as much as he loved Mike. Maybe he had forgotten just how much Mike meant to him when he died. Maybe he'd tried to use Lane to replace the hole in his heart Mike had left behind when he died.

Mike swallowed hard, the feeling of Alex's lips on his after so long look in Alex's eyes, the pure love and adoration radiating from him was surreal. He had never thought that Alex would look at him like that again.
"I-I love you to Alex..."

"I love you the same as him. I do." Alex knew the words were true. He had simply forgotten the way Mike made him feel.

"The what do we do now?"
Critter wasn't allowed to kiss him...Mike felt special for that.

"I don't know... we could try that all three of us thing Lane mentioned. If you liked that idea. He better not kiss you again though... or I'll crack the other jaw."

Mike blinked stunned, had Alex really been that mad?

Lane cleared his throat, leaning against the wall. "Once was pushing it, twice would be a mistake Boo."
He had been out of line but he would have anyone hit him like that, especially not a lover.

"Lane, when'd you get there?" Alex raised a brow. "And I know it would be a mistake and I wouldn't want to but if you don't kiss him again we don't have to worry about that."
