I Dream Of Death

"We all are, at least me you and Mike are I know. It might not seem like it but I know what he thinks and why. And I can see right through you when it comes to you being taken care of."

"I know you can. Sometimes I like that and sometimes I wish you couldn't." Alex stroked Lane's hair.

Lane grinned.
"I love you Alex, so, so, so, so much."
He held Alex tightly.

"I love you too Lane." Alex kissed his husband's cheek.

Months passed, they didnt hear from Dustin or any of them. Sarah went over regularly but today she brought something home, it was wrapped in a blue blanket.

When Alex saw the blue blanket he simply stood and left the room, locking himself in the bedroom. No. He would not fucking look at that thing.

That thing needed a home.
Mike had vanished and Quincy could not care for hit without his Mikey.
Sarah too it home.
It had Mike's piercing baby blue eyes, it had there light brown hair like Quincy's. The smile was Mike's, big and bright. The cheeks and the lips, it looked just like its momma.

Alex began packing his things when he heard the child was staying here. He could not be in the same house as it. He was leaving.

Lane followed him and uppacked as Alex packed before taking the suit case and putting it away, he took Alex in his arms and sat on the bed.
"You cant leave me Boo, and you dont have to like the thing, it has to have a place to stay."
Lane was not letting Alex leave.

"Lane I cannot and will not be in the same house as it. I'm leaving. You can come with but I will not stay here."

"Alex, you can't leave me. This is home and its just a baby Alex. What's it going to do."
Lane refused to let Alex leave.

"Every fucking time I look at it it will remind me of who it's parents are. That's what." Alex growled.

"Alex, you cant leave me Boo. I need you, and that baby is harmless, Mike dont love Quincy. So its just Mikes baby. You haven't seen it, it dont even look like Quincy, it looks like Mike.

"I don't care. I'll fucking know Quincy made it. Just let me go see Dustin. I'll coem back." Alex paused. "Never thought I'd say that..."

"Alex promise me you'll come home to me."
He needed Alex here with him.

"Fine. But I won't promise I'll stay." Alex couldn't stay in this house anymore.

"Alex please, if you love me you'll stay. This is my home, our home."
Lane looked down, his bottom lip trembling but he refused to cry.

"And now it's that baby's home. AndI refuse to have the same home as it. Lane please don't cry." Alex sighed, hugging his husband. "You love me. Do you want me to be uncomfortable in my own house? To feel heartbreak every time I turn the corner and see that damn thing?"

"You moved on, why cant he, he was not even happy. You should feel bad for the little thing. Mike didnt want it and now hes gone so the kid has no family and this is home, I dont want to leave."
He struggled to keep the shaky tears out of his voice.

"I know I have to let him move on. But that does not mean I have to like that child Lane. I can't stay here."

Mike was gone, he had vanished, did Alex not get that he didn't have to see him ever again?
"Alex....It means so much to you that you would leave me just to be away from it?"

"Lane, you don't understand how I'm feeling. You don't know what it felt like every time Quincy stuck his tongue down Mike's throat. You didn't know how hurt I was when they announced Mike was pregnant. And you can not possibly understand how frightened I am of even glimpsing that child. I'll lose it Lane."

"A-Alex, you..."
Lanes body racked with a silent sob. Alex was leaving him, but he would not cry, he would not let Alex see him cry.

"I'm not leaving you baby. I'm leaving this house." Alex sighed.

Lane shook his head and got up. He quickly left the room so Alex would not see the tears.
