I Dream Of Death

Alex gulped.
"I lied. Let's go now." He whined at Daffy.

"Just look at it."
Daffy tugged Alex over and gently took the baby from Lane, he moved the fuzzy blue blanket so Alex could see its little face. The baby grinned and giggled.

Alex caught a glimpse and that was enough for him.
"Dustin..." He breathed. "I knew this wasn't a good idea." His stomach churned at the combination of Mike and Quincy he saw in that little baby.

Dustin sigh and looked down at the infant.
"Alex, its a baby and it likes you."
Daffy didnt move but the baby reached out and laid its tiny hand on Alex's chest.

Alex's eyes stayed clenched shut. He could not be mean to the child but he wanted that hand off of him. Now.

Daffy sighed and gently removed the baby's hand before making sure he was securely wrapped in the blanket before handing it back to Lane.
"Its okay Alex."

"I'm sorry..." Alex shook his head. How could they all love this baby so much?

Daffy took Alex outside.
"You dont be sorry. I know, but its a baby, its my nephew or I wouldnt want to see it. It looks like Mike so im making myself love it. Lane is doing just what I am, he loved Mike and Quincy and now he is loving there baby. Sarah is a sucker for the kid because she didnt get to raise hers. You dont have to like it."

"I just hate it. You're the only one who is understanding me right now. Everyone will say 'oh its just a kid Alex dont be such a jerk' but think if it was the other way around. No one would get on Mike's case for not wanting to see my and Lane's child now would they?" He sighed.

"Alex, see now that is where your wrong. This is not the same, you LEFT him, Mike loves you, you left Mike so he tried to find someone else and he fail! But I know Mike would hate it, it would eat at him and it would tear him apart because he loves you as much as he always did, but he would not be mean and he would not say anything about the baby. But I dont blame you, I know it hurts but we dont favor Mike."

"Maybe YOU don't but everyone else sure as hell does." Alex sighed.

"Hey now, it seems like that to you but when you think about it, its not them favoring him, its them trying to love him, show him he is loved before you left him. You dont know what you did to him, I lived with him and not even I know that pain."

"I have no clue what I would do without you to talk to." Alex shook his head. "If someone would've told me a year ago this would happen in the future I'd tell em they were insane.."

Daffy laughed.
"Me too but you know, I think I make a good therapist."
He grinned to himself.

"You do. Better than everyone else who has tried to 'help' me." Alex smiled.

"I know, im awesome."
He tried to keep up the smile but it faded as it reminded him of Mike.

Alex frowned. He hadn't said that word since he'd left Mike.

The word awesome could be defined in many ways but when Daffy thought of the word he though of Mike. Why? Because Mike brought new meaning to the word.

"I hate that word." Alex frowned. They'd just started joking and lightening the mood.

"Why? When I think of that word I think of Mike because that man id the definition of Awesome."

"Exactly. It upsets me because all I think of is him..." Alex frowned.

"I think of him all the time. Just little things make me stop and think about Mike or the Miz."

"Same with me. I try not to but it's impossible." Alex frowned.

"The Miz is ruthless sometimes, cocky ass mean mother fucker." Daffy grumbled.

"Yes but I love the Miz too." Alex smiled fondly. He did.
