Alanna clung to Randy, she didn't want to let go. She felt safe with him.

Randy smiled, placing a kiss on Alanna's head and lifting her up.
He glanced at the clock. Around dinner time.
"Uh, what do you want for dinner?" Randy asked, mostly Aiden since he remembered Alanna didn't talk.

"Lanna likes chicken, she hates fish, I'll eat anything," Aiden said.

"Chicken nuggets it is. Glad she likes em, it's the only thing I got at the moment. I'll have to go shopping tomorrow." Randy chuckled, grabbing the nuggets out of the freezer.

Randy finished cooking and gave the kids their food.
"Sorry, if it's not very good. I would've had something better, but I hadn't exactly planned on this."

Aiden watched Alanna shake her head. "Lanna Belle's right," Aiden said. "It's not your fault."

"If I wouldn't have broken up with him, he would've been happy with my children. He wouldn't have hurt you like he did." Randy closed his eyes and shook his head. He hated the thought of poor little Alanna being beaten, being 'touched' by strangers. Aiden being thrown around. He'd just met them and he could never hurt them. Ever.

Randy nodded.
This made more sense, Wade would never hurt his own children willingly.
"Aiden, who all did he let... touch her?" Randy asked, glancing at Alanna who seemed off in her own little world. This was the one thing he couldn't get out of his head. Alanna was so sweet and innocent, how could Wade have let that happen?

Randy clenched his fists.
"If I ever meet this David, he's getting my foot shoved so far up his a- Sorry, forgot your a child." Randy stopped abruptly. Aiden acted so mature for his age, he forgot he wasn't an adult.
