Surprise........Daddy

Randy lifted her and carried her like a princess to his room. He laid her gently on the bed.
"Does she have a night gown or pajamas or anything?" Randy asked.

Alanna watched as Aiden began digging through the case of her belongings. I think so," Aiden said.

Randy waited for Aiden to find her clothes. When he did, Randy was going to help change her but he didn't want to overstep his boundaries.
"You wanna?" He asked Aiden.

"She's not going to let go of you," Aiden said. "She never goes to bed easy, she gets scared."

"Okay, I guess there's room for all three of us in the bed." Randy shrugged and changed Alanna into the clothes Aiden found.
"Do you need to get changed too?"

"I....I will," Aiden said. He didn't want Randy to see his scars

"Okay. You think you can watch her for a sec while I go to the bathroom and get changed?" Randy asked, digging in his dresser for something to wear.

Aiden nodded and sat down next to her. "Nothing I haven't done before," Adien said.

Randy nodded, and jogged off to the bathroom. He undressed, hopped in the shower just to wash himself off, got out and slipped into a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt.

Aiden tried to change as quickly as he could, he was horrified of Randy seeing the scars.

Randy quickly walked back to the room, not wanting them to be alone for too long.
He gasped as he saw Aiden's shirtless back facing him. It was covered, every inch had scars.
"Oh Aiden." Randy frowned.

Aiden pulled his shirt on quickly and bit his lip, staring at his feet.

"Aiden c'mere." Randy opened his arms wide, giving Aiden room to slip in for a hug.

Aiden slowly walked over to him, not sure what to expect.

Randy wrapped Aiden in his arms.
"He's not gonna hurt you anymore, Aiden." He whispered soothingly.

Aiden simply nodded. "I don't care if he does," Aiden said. "Not 'Lanna, not again."

"If he lays a finger on either one of you ever again I'll... I won't get into details." Randy chuckled.

For the first time in a long time, Aiden smiled.

Randy patted Aiden's back, kissed the top of his head and hopped into the bed beside Alanna, gesturing for Aiden to crawl in beside him.

Aiden crawled into the bed, smiling over at his sister, then suddenly he frowned. "She's warm......"

"Aww, ya don't think she's sick do you? Sorry, I'm new at this raising kids thing." Randy laughed humorlessly.

Aiden slowly nodded. "She gets sick really really easy, it gets pretty bad," Aiden said.

"I'll take her temperature." Randy said, and ran off to find a thermometer.

Aiden slowly nodded. "It won't be easy," he muttered.

Randy came back with the thermometer.
"What do you mean it won't be easy?"
