Surprise........Daddy

"Kay, thanks." Randy said with a chuckle. Although, he'd known Cody for many years, he still laughed at his lisp. "See ya soon then."

"Th-ee ya," Cody said.

Randy snapped his phone shut and laughed again to himself.
"Aiden, Cody's gonna be here soon. Just warning you, he has a lisp. Don't mention it though, he's a bit th-ensitive." Randy chuckled at his joke.

Aiden chuckled and nodded.

Randy talked to Aiden while holding Alanna as they waited for Cody to arrive. He reassure Aiden that although Wade's friends may not have been good people, all of Randy's friends were. They wouldn't dream of hurting children especially if they were Randy's.

Aiden watched his sister carefully. She was calmer than normal, he knew that wouldn't last.

Randy felt Alanna's head. She was getting warmer.
"Damn, Cody hurry up." He mumbled.

Cody walked in and his eyes went wide. "What the......"

"Cody this is Aiden and this is Alanna." Randy said, gesturing to each child in turn. "They're my kids apparently." He said, very bluntly. He'd explain the details in a moment.

"W-Whoa......." Cody stammered.

"Confused? So was I." Randy said with a smirk.

"Where...when...who...how what....." Cody stammered.

"They're Wade's and mine. Apparently Wade was pregnant and didn't tell me. He... well he hurt them badly. And I mean very badly and he was arrested so I'm their legal guardian." Randy explained.

Cody nodded. "I tried to tell you I didn't like him," Cody said. "You didn't li-th-en to me."

Randy tried to hide the smile tugging at his lips.
"I know Cody. But that's not the point right now. Now, Alanna is sick. I need to take her to a doctor and I need someone to watch Aiden, can you?"

Cody watched as the child in Randy's arms began to squirm, whining and whimpering as she did so. "I don't think th-he like-th that idea too much, but th-ure," Cody lisped.

"She doesn't want to go but she has to. Lanna baby, stop squirming." Randy cooed.
"Thank you Cody."

"No problem," Cody said. He watched Alanna snuggled close to Randy, shaking.

"Aiden, you alright staying here with Cody?" Randy asked, not wanting Aiden to be frightened at the thought of staying with a stranger.

Aiden nodded. "Good luck, you'll need it," Aiden said.

Randy nodded and held Alanna tightly.
"C'mon Lanna, let's go." He began walking to the door.

Alanna simply nodded, sighing in defeat. She didn't have the strength to fight anymore.

"The doctor's gonna help you 'Lanna, you shouldn't be afraid of him." Randy cooed, rubbing her back as he put her in the backseat of the car, climbing into the driver's seat himself.

Alanna didn't respond, she just hugged her doll tightly, staring back at the house.

Randy drove quickly to the doctor's office, this wasn't major enough for the hospital. The nurse did the usual things, temperature, blood pressure, stuff like that. Then she left, leaving Randy and Alanna alone to wait for the doctor.
