I Dream Of Death

"Critter sweetheart." Sarah cooed and she hugged him. "Whats wrong with you, your never this upset."

Lane shook his head harshly. "Sarah he was going to leave me, hell he did."
Lane was still so heart broken.

"Babe, I only did it because I couldn't break my promise to Mike... but I can't leave you. That's why I came back." Alex sighed.

Lane was hugged Sarah around her waist, his head buried in her chest. Sarah sighed and mouthed to Alex. "Im sorry, he never acts like this. I have never seen him so upset and scared. He loves you so much and he is afraid you'll leave him."
She then motioned for Alex to hold him.

Alex nodded. He hesitantly stood and walked over to Lane. He slowly wrapped his arms around his husband's waist, kissing the top of his head.

Lane sniffled and let Sarah go before attaching himself to Alex. He soaked Alex's shirt with tears and he places kisses on his chest.

"Shhhh, baby it's okay. I'm not leaving you." Alex cooed as he scooped Lane up in his arms, carrying him to the couch.

Lane sat up and pulled away from Alex. His harshly wiped his eyes before pulling Alex to his chest. "I love you B-Boo."

Alex smiled, own eyes filling with tears of joy as Lane finally called him Boo again.
"I love you too Lane."

A year or so went by with Lane and Alex together. Sarah was with them and they had not seen Mike, or Quinton or Daffy since Alex let Mike go. Today Sarah was taking them to have a cook out with Daffy and whoever else at his house.

Alex's heart had slowly been mended. It was a rough job and certain things still made him lose his cool but he was doing better. However today he was nervous. He was going to see Mike.
"Lane... you think he's going to be there?" Alex turned to his husband. He didnt have to say who 'he' was.

Lane nodded.
"I know he will. He lives with them so its at his house."

Sarah got ready and lead them over to Daffy's. Daffy was grilling something, it smelled good. A man who looked like Quinton was sitting beside a large bon fire Daffy had built. And the other man who looked like or was Quinton was sitting beside the clone. Mike wasn't there, or so it seemed before another man walked out of the house. He was smaller than the others, brown hair longer then usual and blue eyes that stood out. He was going to sit down but one of the twins pulled him into there lap.

Alex sighed.
"Lane... I have a feeling... this night is not going to go well."

"Me too....." He paused before giving a smirk. "Which one is Quincy?" He inquired.

The man holding Mike grinned and stood up. He took Mike's hand and lead him over to hug Lane before his arm snaked its way around Mike's waist.
"Hey Lane." Quincy smiled brightly as Lane said hey back.

Alex nodded at the man politely, however his eyes never left Mike... and the arm around his waist.
"You left him... he has every right to move on..." He told himself. But that didn't stop the roughly patched crack in his heart from opening again.

Mike was trying so hard to move on but he still loved Alex just as much as he always has. Quincy likes him and he is trying to give Quincy a chance but it will never be the same, Quincy is not Alex.

Quincy snickered as Dustin cursed, having burnt himself of the grill. He pulled Mike closer and kissed his cheek. "Are you hungry baby?"

Mike nodded and looked back over to Daffy. "I don't know if I wanna eat whatever he is burning over there though."

Quincy laughed and nuzzled Mike's neck.

Alex sighed, tightening his grip on Lane's hand. Oh, this was going to be a LONG night.

Lane squeezed back and took Alex over to sit down beside Quinton and Sarah. Quinton greeted them nicely.

"You happy to have Quincy back?" Lane asked as he let an arm wrap around Alex's waist.

Quinton grinned. "Yeah, I missed him."

Lane grew quiet before asking what he really wanted to know.
"They are together, Quincy loves Mike, how does Mike feel?"

Quinton nodded but then frowned.
"Lane, I don't know what to tell you. I don't know what goes through Mike's head."

Alex knew. He always did. Sometimes it was as if he could read Mike's thoughts.
He didn't love Quincy. He wanted to but he couldn't. Alex was positive of that. But he didn't speak up. He kept quiet, leaning into Lane.

Quincy came and sat beside his brother, he had a tattoo on his arm, it simply said
MGM+QCM=<3

He and Quinton talked fro a moment before Mike walked over, an irritated look on his face.

Quincy looked up. "Baby whats wrong?"
Mike sighed and held out his hand, it had a burn on it. "Daffy burnt me on accident." He shrugged before Quincy 'Awwwed' and kissed burnt hand.

Alex's heart ached at the tattoo. But part of him felt bad for Quincy. Was he really that oblivious? Did he think Mike loved him in only a year after loving Alex for thirty? Was he that stupid that he would get a tattoo like that? Alex would never get a tattoo with anyone's name. Because he and Mike had proven, nothing lasted forever. And when Mike finally spoke up and admitted that he didn't love Quincy all that tattoo would be was a sad, gut wrenching reminder of his heartbreak.

Mike sighed at the tattoo. "What did I tell you about that?"

Quincy smiled and shrugged. "Even if we wont last ill always love you, you got like two scars that represent Alex, the thing is he dont love you anymore. I always will so I dont mind the tat, It'll remind me of good times we had IF we ever break up." He pulled Mike into his arms.

Quincy was not stupid, he knew Mike still loved Alex but he was trying. He loved Mike, always would so if Mike would be with him, Quincy would love him and try to get Mike to love him back.

Alex held back the growl threatening to pass his lips.
Who was Quincy to tell Mike Alex didn't love him anymore? He hadn't spoken a word to him in his life. One of the last things Alex had told Mike was that he would always love him and that was still true.

Mike rested against Quincy's chest.
"Your a hardheaded idiot but I guess I love you."

Quincy grinned, Mike was no in love with him like Alex but he did love him.
"Love you too baby."
He kissed Mike softly.

Alex practically lost it right there. His hands clenched into fists. He bit down hard on his lower lip. He stomped his foot but the sound was muffled by the grass. No one noticed all this except his husband who he looked at pleadingly. Why the fuck were they here anyway? The only ones he wanted to see where Sarah, Lane and maybe Quinton. He hated Daffy. Didn't hate Quincy but was certainly not his biggest fan at the moment. Couldn't bare to look at Mike currently. He had Lane and Sarah at home and he'd deal with not seeing Quinton. He just wanted out of here.

Lane leaned in and whispered in Alex's ear.
"Please Alex, this is my family. I knwo you might not like them all but I never see them and I love them so please, just a little longer." Lane pleaded as Sarah turned on the radio.

Quincy grinned and pulled Mike up, he wrapped his arms around his as they swayed to the music.
